You know, I've got a problem with this tax payer "bail out." Seems to me every time the Bush Admin has asked for, or just taken, extraordinary powers, we were being sold some useless swamp land and told it was a mandatory protection of our way of life because of some immediate, imminent, catastrophic danger. Every single time the Bush Admin. has played the fear card, it's been a way to cow people into complying with something that in the end has been outrageously against our better interests. Well, I AIN'T BUYING WHAT THEY'RE SELLING ANYMORE.
Why IN THE WORLD would we trust the people who've been WRONG time and time again, and LIED time and time again? I was watching This Week this morning and just SCREAMING at the TV, watching that bone head Boehner stress that this is no time for partisan politics and that the Dems needed to just give Bush everything he's asking for without any pesky oversight or accountability. Oddly enough, the round table discussion later on This Week hit on a lot of my fears. AND WTF? We don't even know what we're buying with our dollars - how much money in bad paper are we talking about? There's been NO transparency in this mess that got us here, and there is NO transparency in the plan to clean it up. There's even a clause in this proposed legislation before congress that says Paulson is not subject to ANY review, by ANYone. WTF?
I say, HELL NO! I think Congress needs to DO THEIR JOB and take some time to make sure we're not handing Bush even more power to do more nefarious, underhanded, undemocratic scheming and STEALING. I don't understand all this, but damn it all, Congress sure as hell better before they sell us down the river again in another Bush Admin. scheme.
