I wrote The Shock Doctrine in the hopes that it would make us all better prepared for the next big shock. Well, that shock has certainly arrived, along with gloves-off attempts to use it to push through radical pro-corporate policies (which of course will further enrich the very players who created the market crisis in the first place…). But here’s the thing: these tactics can only work if we let them. They work when we give in to our fear and our desire for “strong leaders” – even if they are the same strong leaders who used the September 11 attacks to launch the Disaster Capitalism Complex. Sadly, there are no saviors in this crisis, and the only hope of preventing another dose of shock politics is loud, organized grassroots pressure on all political parties.
In this newsletter, Debra Levy, who runs www.shockdoctrine.org and was my closest colleague in researching The Shock Doctrine, has compiled my recent writing and interviews on the crisis, as well as information about an upcoming protest in New York. We also have the gory details of how the right wing think tanks are already using the market shock to push for some old fashioned economic shock therapy.
We send this with an urgent request: please, don’t be silent. If you have read the book, you know that this is precisely the kind of moment in which we stand to lose (or gain) it all. If we are slow, the radical changes will be locked in; if the Bush Administration gets its way, the actions taken this week will not be subject to repeal or to any legal challenge. So write letters to the editor, call your elected representatives, contact the Obama campaign, and let them know: the way to solve a crisis born of deregulated capitalism is not with more gifts and giveaways for Wall Street!

Problem is....the Religious Right have this "idea" that God is in this! That this has all been ordained by "the Books of Revelations and Daniel" and that ONLY by kneeling to "this God" [in this case the God of the Greedy] and truly repenting...will Armageddon be put off.
The problem is.... that the leadership, those to set and be the example are "bilking their minions" [take a good look at the 3 fingers that have been pointing back at you who "claim" to be of a Christian nation, with Christian values, etc. but who, as the "money changers", are just doing the job allotted by THOSE IN CHARGE!
Without CHECKS & BALANCES....it does not matter which God you profess! Your LOWEST NATURE will always take charge! And that is exactly what is happening right NOW....thanks to all you temple money changers, who were suppose to be "doing right"! At least that is what "you Claim" thru your vestitures!

Profit modus operandi! has been inserted in religions aspirations of the Most Holy ...the most FAITHFUL down thru the ages. And millions and millions of lives have been lost, because of aspirations of the faithful... but Without Checks and Balances!
Where are those "3 fingers" pointing to citizen? Where has Justice and Courage been seen? Real Justice; real courage? And where is the INTEGRITY of the Faithful? General Cop-out /denial has always been , ..."but I am ONLY HUMAN". Yes you are , and THIS is exactly why Ronald Reagan's misdeeds MUST be CHANGED!
His was the platform that less government was good government! Problem is....good government for WHOM? You or I citizen? Or for the Financiers and Corporate elite who HATE Checks & Balances; who will gauge and corrupt the system in order to cut bottom line costs...Costs to them! It gets in the way of their "profits", but always at YOUR expense.
So who has been looking out, and Protecting the Constitution and its people? It sure is not with the crowd we have in Washington, or in the MSM, or in the financiers across the globe. Let's face it America, as the Sadducees had to, BUT DID NOT! How will we stabilize as well as correct our system? Who will begin and implement government where it is necessary, for the Good of the people? Who is willing to be ACCOUNTABLE for the people?
Who will be crucified, and for WHAT? Certainly not the promoters of the Tables of CHANGE! It is not the act that must be OVERTHROWN, but the SYSTEM that allowed these acts to be put in play and exist at the expense of the people hmmmmm
Bring BACK the CHECKS & BALANCES that Reagan and his "bunch" threw out! We need to have "guide posts & judgement" in play on a daily basis, by direction of an UNBIASED COURT, under the guise of The Constitution for THIS nation. Keep Church and State separate! Keep the Constitution in tact, but MOST important,....PROTECTED!
