Grampy forgets from moment to moment what he just said so that's why he flip-flopped on the joint statement issue. He's also scared because he knows he doesn't know what the hell is going on or what to do about it. smile.gif

Is it just a lucky coincidence?...the polls come out this morning...Barack is well ahead for the first time..and McCain wants to suspend the game because of a little rain...?...to run back to Mother Senate where he has some cronies to stand amidst?...Running scared is the right idea but the wrong metaphor for the Old Navy Crash Test Dummy. He is bailing out...AGAIN!

Has anyone else noticed that when he says 'My Friends', it sounds just like Raygun when he would say 'Well' it's the same fucking rhythym same old rhyme. Talk about a prick, my friends would loan me money, just not 2 trillion.

Did Randi just say that McCain is pulling all of his ads off the air?

Wait for it........... the RW dittoheads will start spewing (like Lieberman) how unselfish McCain is to pull his ads, and will diss Obama for being an "opportunist" for not pulling HIS.

SurveyUSA. 9/24. Adults. MoE 3.2% (No trend lines)

The first debate between John McCain and Barack Obama is scheduled to take place in two days. Should the debate be held as scheduled? Should the debate be held, but the format changed to focus on the economy? Or, should the debate be postponed?

Hold as scheduled 50
Hold with focus on economy 36
Postpone 10

Is the right response to the turmoil on Wall Street to suspend the campaigns for president? To continue the campaigns as though there is no crisis? Or, to re-focus the campaigns with a unique emphasis on the turmoil on Wall Street?

Suspend 14
Continue 31
Refocus the campaign 48

If Friday's presidential debate does not take place, would that be good for America? Bad for America? Or would it make no difference?

Good for America 14
Bad for America 46
No difference 35

Once again, McCain finds himself on the wrong side of public opinion.

This smells funny. Could this be some way for Bush to prolong his presidency? The economy may be tanking, we are in a war and McCain is suspending his campaign.

Here's the script from Seinfeld Fire episode where Costanza flees a fire at a kid's party and pushes children and old ladies out of the way. Meant as an analogy for Bush presidency by blogger but fits McCain campaign as well.

QUOTE
ROBIN'S MOTHER: That's the coward that left us to die!

GEORGE (voice is hoarse from screaming): I...was trying to lead the way. We needed a leader! Someone to lead the way to safety.

ROBIN: But you yelled "get out of my way"!

GEORGE: Because! Because, as the leader...if I die...then all hope is lost! Who would lead? The clown? Instead of castigating me, you should all be thanking me. What kind of a topsy-turvy world do we live in, where heroes are cast as villains? Brave men as cowards?

ROBIN: But I saw you push the women and children out of the way in a mad panic! I saw you knock them down! And when you ran out, you left everyone behind!

GEORGE: Seemingly. Seemingly, to the untrained eye, I can fully understand how you got that impression. What looked like pushing...what looked like knocking down...was a safety precaution! In a fire, you stay close to the ground, am I right? And when I ran out that door, I was not leaving anyone behind! Oh, quite the contrary! I risked my life making sure that exit was clear. Any other questions?

FIREMAN: How do you live with yourself?

GEORGE: Its not easy.

Cut to the Coffee Shop

GEORGE: So she doesn't want to see me anymore.

JERRY: Did you knock her over too, or just the kids?

GEORGE: No, her too. And her mother.

JERRY: Really? Her mother.

GEORGE: Yeah. I may have stepped on her arm, too, I don't know.

JERRY: You probably couldn't see because of the smoke.

GEORGE: Yeah. But it was somebody's arm.

JERRY: So you feel "women and children first," in this day and age, is somewhat of an antiquated notion.

GEORGE: To some degree.

JERRY: So basically, it's every man, woman, child, and invalid for themselves.

GEORGE: In a manner of speaking.

JERRY: Well, it's honest.

GEORGE: Yeah. She should be commending me for treating everyone like equals.

The question on whether or not to suspend the election because of the economy is total bullcrap. I seem to recall we were in the middle of a WORLD WAR 64 years ago, and that didn't stop us. Just asking the question is no different than "push polling;" it sets up in people's minds that the elections could be suspended. There should be no question in any American's mind that the elections must go on.
