Wasilla Watch: Sarah Palin and the Rape Kits

By DOROTHY SAMUELS

Even in tough budget times, there are lines that cannot be crossed. So I was startled by this tidbit reported recently by The Associated Press: When Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, the small town began billing sexual-assault victims for the cost of rape kits and forensic exams.

WAIT for Joe to eat them both for lunch on this one.

Sen Big Dog Biden is gonna break Palin down with facts and revelations. She may crack under the pressure. Although Biden must be careful...coal exposed to extreme pressure can, via some members of the press turn into diamonds...

Sorry K
The press does not impress the millions that watched and will watch
Biden take her down and McScumfuck with her.
She may be a lump of coal but there is no diamond under that
female bag of pus. Record numbers watched the debates. How many
watched the sitting monkey-in-thief the other day? And how many
were influenced by monkey boys tactics? NONE.
And what exactly do you recall from the "press" about it all?
No a thing I would imagine.

There is too much focus on the rape kit controversy and not on the what should be the major concern and that is, what the McCain campaign and the Governor thinks about the welfare of women and in children. In the rape kit controversy it can be argued back and forth whether the the now Governor knew about it or not. The controversy is a distraction from statements made that demonstrate the values of McCain and Palin. In an Associated Press report of September 16th the firing of Monegan was because as the Commissioner of Public Safety he was pursuing funding to aggressively deal with the raging problem of sexual assault in Alaska. Alaska rape and child sexual assault is the highest in the nation...and it is not just a little bit higher - it is appalling higher. An extract from the article is below:

The last straw, the McCain campaign said, was in July, when Monegan planned to travel to Washington to seek federal money for a
plan to assign troopers, judges and prosecutors who could exclusively handle sexual assault cases — one of the state's most
intractable crime problems.

In a July 7 e-mail, John Katz, the governor's special counsel, noted two problems with the trip: The governor hadn't agreed the
money should be sought, and the request was "out of sequence with our other appropriations requests and could put a strain on the
evolving relationship between the Governor and Sen. (Ted) Stevens."

So what this says is that...the Palin administration put the relationship between Senator Steven (who is now on trial for corruption) ahead of women and child welfare. And the McCain campaign considers this a reasonable explanation. THE PURSUIT OF SEXUAL DEVIANTS IS NOT A PRIORITY OF JOHN McCAIN. The selection of Governor Palin, as Pat Robertson demonstrated, demonstrated the values of John McCain! Lady Rothschild says Obama is elitist...so she supports John McCain...because letting sexual deviants, like child molestors, run wild is OK. Dynamite.

The McCain campaign would like nothing more that the rape kit controversy to continue, because it takes the focus off what the campaigned revealed about McCain values...the values of Governor Palin...and the values of the Republican Party. This is the Willy Horton problem in reverse and would cause the likes of Pat Robertson and Lady Rothschild to run screaming from John McCain to avoid the stink of this from affecting them.

Mitch224 NOTE - THIS IS NOT THE ENTIRE POST. PLEASE REFER TO THE
POST <TOO BIG FOR ME TO REPOST HERE - ITS JUST ABOVE>

TT
Thank you for your opinion. I feel that bringing up the
issue in its entirety would not "fit" into the 2 min debate
<horseshit> structure, the fact that Biden was the author of the 1994
bill and the fact that McStupid voted against it would.

Your analysis and factual basis is spot on. I just don't see how
Biden could condense it into usable materiel.

Thanks again

You have a point there...I HOPE BIDEN TEARS PALIN A NEW ONE ON THURSDAY.
NoYards
Don't know if this has been brought up before, but the reason the Palin people say they fired Monegan was not because he refused to fire Wooten, but because he went over Palin's head to get federal money to help investigate and prosecuting rape cases.

What is it with Republicans and their hated of rape victims?

QUOTE
McCain's campaign insists the investigation into the firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan has been hijacked by Democrats. The campaign says it can prove Monegan was fired in July because of insubordination on budget issues, and not because he refused to fire a state trooper who went through a nasty divorce from Palin's sister.

To that end, the campaign released a series of e-mails detailing the frustration several Palin administration officials experienced in dealing with Monegan. The "last straw," the campaign said, was a trip Monegan planned to Washington in July to seek federal money for investigating and prosecuting sexual assault cases.
