Jess and I were watching American Idol late last night on our DVR and just as Ryan said "And the Winner of American Idol by 12 Million votes is David…" the DVR had stopped recording. Jess screamed so loud I thought something bit her! Like crazy people we ran to my computer to look it up! The winner was David Cook thank GOD or there would be no consoling either one of us.

So I'm hoping that since the 20 somethings are becoming involved in politics this year maybe Election Night will have THAT kind of excitement too!? I AM a sunny optimist eh? Well, this IS America and anything is possible. Could it be that we want it ALL this year? Idol and politcs? Liberty AND security, Church AND State, Obama AND Clinton?

What do you think of the Dream Ticket now? Yes? No? Maybe?

There will be an important meeting of the DNC Rules Committee on May 31st to try to find an acceptable conclusion to the disenfranchisement of Florida and Michigan. About a dozen of the committee members have endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton; eight have endorsed Sen. Barack Obama. Two members work for the Clinton campaign, including strategist Harold Ickes. The two chairmen—Alexis Herman and James Roosevelt Jr.–are neutral, but Herman served in the Clinton White House. OUCH.

For those who still don't know what happened in each state…

FLORIDA:
In Florida's State Legislature Republicans outnumber Democrats 2 to 1 and we have a Republican Governor. Keeping that in mind here's what happened. Democrats wanted a piece of legislation to give voters a paper trail because we vote into BLACK BOXES. Republicans agreed to take up the legislation and then added in the new date for Florida's Democratic Primary. In addition they added a long trail of new voting regulations that most Democrats were against. Democrats tried to amend that bill to prevent these items from being attached to the paper trail bill, but it failed by 2 to 1 and the Republican version passed with the new Florida primary date which violated DNC rules. The Governor signed the bill into law in 2007 and declared VICTORY for Floridians desperate to get their votes COUNTED. Ahahahahaha. Very funny.

MICHIGAN:
Moving the Michigan Primary up was the brain child of Senator Carl Levin. He was warned in 2004 by then DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe that if Michigan held their primary before Super Tuesday they would only get half their delegation seated. The same rules are in place in 2008, but the Michigan Democrats moved it up and of course the penalty for doing so was clear.

In order to show Party Unity, Hillary, Barack and John Edwards all signed a pledge which said they would not PARTICPATE in any way in the Florida and Michigan Primaries. The reason that their names were on the ballot in Florida is simply because in Florida State law says if you want your name removed from the ballot you must swear that you are no longer running for office. That was not the case, and so Obama, Clinton and Edwards were on the ballot on Primary Day.

Michigan was different. A candidate could move to have their name taken off the ballot. Obama honored his pledge as did Edwards and had their names removed, while Clinton chose to violate the contract she signed. She now claims that she was right to violate her pledge and that Obama was simply being a politician.

Edwards, Clinton and Obama each signed the following pledge:

I _______________, Democratic Candidate for President, pledge I shall not campaign or participate in any state which schedules a presidential election primary or caucus before Feb. 5, 2008, except for the states of Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina, as "campaigning" is defined by rules and regulations of the DNC.

SO WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS? There are quite a few but after all of the primaries are said and done however, none of them will help Hillary secure a majority of pledged delegates. But that's not stopping her from parading through Florida invoking the 2000 Election.

Meanwhile OUR LIVES go on and the COST OF LIVING IS KILLING US ALL!

The price of gas literally CHANGED before my eyes yesterday. While I was pumping the price changed from $3.45 to 3.71 a gallon! The GOP talking points? We should stop blaming oil companies and blame President Clinton for not building refineries and for not drilling in ANWAR? What? How long has Bush been President? How many years did he have a Republican MAJORITY? FREAKS.

Price per barrel yesterday? $139! Are we really going to see $200 per barrel crude prices? MAN. Here's a thought. If the price of materials goes up surely the price of the product goes up. But HOW DO PROFITS increase if the cost of materials and price go up equally? Profits should remain the SAME.

THE PSYCHO PASTORS PARADE OF FOOLS MARCHES ON! Grandpa McCains' favorite PSYCHO Pastor John Hagee now claims that GOD planned the Holocost…Crazy Hagee Video Below

FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN

DNC Rules Committee lay out the format for the May 31 hearing to decide how to seat Florida and Michigan.

Why did Floridians vote if they knew that their vote in the Presidential Primary wouldn't count? There were several important State races on the ballots and a Property Tax question. Democratic Floridians are desperately trying to take back the State Legislature so they voted.

It's great that you have company while watching Idol. Something to be cherished.

Hear me now and believe me later, the Country is headed into a deep reccession. The President, while begging Saudis for more oil used the argument that soon OPEC's customers will lower their demands as oil prices threaten our entire economy and eventually the global economy. Several large corporations anticipating that trend are cutting back manufacturing and laying off employees this very week. (refer to auto industry in particular). It's just history repeating itself.

Flip flop Senator Methusala (sp), is indicating a moderate, center right ticket. So, I would like to see a center-left ticket opposed to that. Clintons are Centrists at heart with a history of supporting left causes. The illusion to me is that moderate republicans did not really accomplish anything in the last eternity of seven years. Border security upgrades were only possible through amendments to Bills. Seems repubs continue to throw the baby out with the bath water each day bowing to the King.

Gee.........I wonder why the oil companies are making record profits, perhaps they own the mineral rights to the land they are pumping from. Ohh and another thing.... I am a pipefitter/welder. I have seen brand new refineries built in the late 80's early 90's on the same property as the old refineries. I guess they don't count being they were on land next to the old refinery.

RandiLover
One more thing about the refineries, they were subsidized by the tax payer. If this is the case, why isn't the tax payer subsidized with the profits? Is this truely free trade? When do the citizens of the United States of America subsidized with THEIR jobs... ohhhh, you have to be a farmer and send your crops to Mexico you so can destroy their economy. But our subsidized farmers need illegal workers to keep their prices down..... wtf.gif How stupid do you think I am?

Our DVR stopped at the exact same moment on the Idol finale. I wonder if Seacrest was looking offstage as he was reading the announcement at a digital clock so that he could know exactly when to screw over everyone recording the show. We're big Cook fans, too.

I can't wait to see the length of Obama's coattails in November. This election has the potential to be the biggest map changer in a long time. Maybe we'll finally see the Southern strategy crushed.
Caonabo
I do think that Hillary is going to pull a "Lieberman"; that's why she is hellsbent on going through with the Primaries even though the math is totally against her and by now it's clear she's not getting there. She wants the PRESIDENCY!!!!! and she knows this fight agaist Grampy Mac is not really a fight... she knows a Democrat is going to win and she wants to be IT. She does not want to be VP, that's for losers. She's solidifying her "Women's Vote" and keeping them on an emotional high so as to maybe create such a ruckus when she does not get the nomination that she can come up with another of her ridiculous (sorry! MSNBC would label it "brilliant"!) LIES (not strategic arguments) and hope to maybe carry them off as a block. Don't tell me I' crazy, she is!! She will try anything........ I've even thought she would even accept VP from McCain with a deal of his doing only four years and she can then (at 64?) go for hers... This way she can cripple Obama for November, insure a Grampy win, serve four years and pass the torch...at that time she will claim real White House experience and whatever else she can lie about. Just thinking....The lady is truly obsessed and borderline maniacal !!!

Yea But, if you go to the DOE website and EIEIO stats you'll see numbers of consumption as well as demand and supply that don't add up over a 10 year average.

Now you say, you have worked on projects which have upgraded or in some cases increased refinery capacity ? I can show you numerous gas and oil industry accidents which show they are cheap bastards when it comes to maintaining current facilities. Discounting drunk captains of supertankers, alot of leaks are caused by negligence by not allocating funds for normal maintenance.

In Addition the President suggested that BRAC, speaking of Pentagon and Politics, could incorporate new refineries through military base closures.

I would like to see the market flooded with crude and competition return to domestic oil companies. I once took a mental picture for my Congressman of two gas stations on the same busy intersection getting product off of two different pipelines having the same price for 3 different grades of gasolene. Now that is not domestic cartel behavior ? Ask the Govinator about a similiar situation he pointed out while joy riding one day. BTW his Hummer has been retrofitted to run on propane or natural gas. I guess only the rich and powerful can diversify their personal consumption of energy sources. It's nice to have choices in life, ain't it ?

McCain's knowledge of world affairs? The guy needs Lieberman with him to help translate. OMG!!

McCain closed the gap on higher personal and ethical standards. Clearly, we need to catapault that propaganda to hell and back.

Which is what Randi is doing by emphasizing the Hagee insanity and the filthy lobbyists McCain keeps having to fire. Five in one week? Wow. Of course the lobbyists were only there because McCain didn't have any money during that period of having to stay in Motel 6. What will he do for money now? Perhaps Cindy's Vogue-ing for the people will do the trick. Poser.

Great job - now can we move on? But if they steal the nomination from Obama? Wonder if Randi will cover that scenario.

Have to ask the stealth procedural manipulator, Harold Ickes. And of course, that's been covered by Randi.

Somehow, we need to distract Harold. Perhaps a layout in Vogue?
