Snackers, beware: Your favorite chocolate or creamy treats might contain milk contaminated with melamine.

The list of companies facing potential recalls grew Friday as reports of foods tainted with the industrial chemical melamine, which has been blamed in the deaths of four Chinese infants, spread to a widening range of products.

Food companies around the globe are rushing to assess their products and in some cases setting new strategies to prevent problems.

"We have to think about any processed food with milk or protein in it," said James Rice, a food industry veteran who is now China country manager for Tyson Foods Inc. (TSN), the world's largest meat processor.

Whoever is responsible for the U.S. needing to import any staple food should be publicly hanged.

This once great nation is being incrementally transformed into a crippled and damaged vestige of what it once was. What is being done to us is analogous to a declared war and we should be responding to it with appropriately vigorous resistance.

That's why you should cook from scratch and not buy pre-packaged foods, and buy locally-grown, organic fare.

Remember the last outbreak of dangerous products from the China. All the lead based products.

The guy in China for over-seeing the products was murdered.

Incorrect. He was executed by the Chinese government.

Damn shame when Communist China is the one giving lessons in accountability.....

You are right, but it's like tomato. Everybody says it different.

Did the guy even get a trial? It is a communist country.

If he got no trial, he was murdered.

If he got a trial, he was executed.

I thought he was executed because he cheated the government?

He got a trial. Such as one is in China.

They got some funny ideas in China. They were fighting with Mexico over the property rights of the product name of tequila. The Mexicans just laughed at their asses. The Mexican tequila doesn't come with bloatfish poison like the real yummy Chinese stuff though.

Cadbury recalls Chinese-made chocolate. Preliminary tests showed melamine in Cadbury chocolates produced at the candy maker's Beijing factory.

Meanwhile, Kraft Foods, the maker of Oreo cookies, and Mars, the maker of M&Ms and Snickers candy, questioned the findings of Indonesian tests that identified melamine in samples of their products made in China.

Both Kraft Foods and Mars said they would comply with an Indonesian recall but planned to conduct their own tests and look into the possibility the tainted products were counterfeits.

JUST GREAT:

Eggs, tainted chicken and possibly fish and hog feed could result in poisonous meat and seafood.

That's right. I don't trust Conagra, Monsanto, ADM, or Tyson for that matter, much more than I trust Chinese producers. We don't eat food from the Mainland at all anymore whether it's frozen seafood, dried noodles, or canned goods unless we can verify the source. Stuff from Taiwan seems to be okay.
Locally grown or manufactured is best on serveral levels, but some stuff we eat just isn't produced locally in these parts.

Some of the Halloween candy is made in China just look at some if it the next time you are in a store.

It's debatable whether China is still a Communist country or not. I'd say it isn't. He got a trial. I believe he was charged and convicted of bribery and corruption.

Agreed. Not debatable. Wonder what Chairman Mao would say....

I don't know. But the Chairman's relationship with reality was sometimes a little casual, esp in his later years but even before that. The one I'd really like to talk to about China today would be Zhou.

Here's some info I received:

If you missed yesterday's bulletin about
potential melamine contamination in the
US food supply, please go here:

http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/460.html

If you read yesterday's bulletin, I have
assembled a number of sources that verify
everything in that story here:

http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/462.html

Until the FDA comes clean, I recommend
that you advoid:

1. ALL manufactured food products made
in China regardless of what the listed
ingredients state.

2. The products of ANY food manufacturer
regardless of where they are based, in
the US or elsewhere, that will not clearly
state that they do not use powdered milk,
powdered eggs, or other bulk food ingredients
manufactured in China.

In its infinite wisdom, the Bush
administration and the FDA has
made the US the ONLY country on earth
that has not ordered these potentially
tainted products removed from
its shelves.

Milk products manufactured in China
and tainted with melamine, an industrial
chemical, killed and injured thousands
of children this year.

If you live in the US, you need to know
that your government is not protecting you
from these products.

The original story posted yesterday is here:

http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/460.html

My additional research is posted here:

http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/462.html

P.S. Please pass this along.

Obviously, the FDA and US news media is happy
to let you eat this stuff and couldn't care
less what happens to you.

A parting gift to America from the Bush family
I guess.

Not everyone lives in California or has that option.
