The internet reports of her being upset about Obama's mention of her son during the debate this past Friday were "COMPLETELY FALSE".

Tracy Jopek gave an interview to the Associated Press today to squash the false internet reports from her ex-husband and posted on DrudgeReport.

It will be interesting to see if Drudge posts her response to his FALSE story.

She said Obama's mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Senator John McCain said a soldier's mother gave him a bracelet.

Jopek says Obama's comment rightfully suggested there's more than one viewpoint on the war.

The false story on drudgereport was linked to an ABC NEWS blog. The Abc news report is a disgrace. They reported a story as fact without even speaking to the mother of the dead soldier.

She's got one more reason to be proud of her son...even though he didn't have an active part in this one. It's too bad though that she doesn't realize that whichever of the two wins the coming election, there are going to be many more mother's sons and daughters who's lives will be lost in un-necessary foreign military adventures. For proof of that just look to the aggressive talk that's come from both men about Russia's recent fight with Georgia. That's no more our business than Iraq was.

In reading the ABC story, they appear to have done a fair job with the complex nuances of this story.

From the Chicago Tribune.

It's best to read both articles completely.

It's best to quit nitpicking this silly issue. McCain was the one who USED his bracelet for a virtual flag wave...Barack was only answering to this...that the death of a soldier is an event that knows no party, and should not be used as a badge to further one's political ends.

These guys would have to wear a few more than 2,000 bracelets each, so I'm sorry either one of them started down this road.

Absolutely.

Does anyone think McStupid was caught off guard by the fact that President Obama trumped him with a bracelet of his own.

I thought it was one of the things that swung a lot of folks his way. It's almost like he knows what John the Evil Marionette is thinking before even he does.

I think so.

I'm sure he understands McCain a lot more than most people in this country; more even than folks that are close to McCain. I'm sure if he was less Presidential, Obama could have had McCain howling like a wounded moose with a few well-placed remarks.

It's not hard "knowing" what McOld is going to say, he REPEATS himself constantly!

All Mr. Obama had to do was go over the film (like a football coach on Monday morning) and his homework is done. I can't believe McC's staff are now complaining that Barack has some sort of spy or something leaking info to him...

The republicans are doing whatever they have to do to get into office because they know they're going to need that PARDON!!! They had a chance at pardon with Clinton, but with Obama, they are clearly worried they'll all (the Bushies) be headed off to Federal Prison for High Treason.

I think McAncient hasn't got a clue...just look at his pick for VP...need I say more?

Where did you hear that one? That's the first I've heard that one.

And you just might be right on the pardon thing. Although I heard something about a pardon being buried in the Telecom bill.

His Veep pick, I think was a panicked rush and a kiss my ass to the far right. I really believe that after Obama made his speech in Denver, everyone except LIEberman said "no thanks"

They have known for a long time he was losing big time.

Both candidates I'm sure have armfulls of braclets.

The fact that Obama had to look at the braclet before he said the name to me means he was wearing the braclet just in case McGrampy did what he did. But I'm sure he had a box full of braclets to choose from when he was dressing for the debate. And I sure for just a moment he was extreemly sad.

Obama looking ahead while the other is looking behind.

But I would agree. It would have been better if McBush had been right and the whole thing was a cakewalk.

Human lives are more important than victory in November.

I think your assessment of the bracelet gaze is wrong.

A look at the bracelet set the attention to the bracelet.

Staring off into space while mentioning the bracelet would have been creepy.

Ditto that.

Obama also wears a flag pin given to him by a veteran that asked him to wear it. This is why he all of a sudden had one. I am sick of people waving the flag while telling everyone they have theirs. This is not supposed to be the "Me Society" it is an all for one and one for all. Just keep telling us Mr McSame how the dems are going to ruin the country, that you all ready have.
