With respect to Lindsay Graham, you may want to curb your hopes for South Carolina. The Democratic challenger in this year's race is to the RIGHT of most Republicans. This will be no victory for the left if this candidate manages to up-root Graham. You can check out his web site at the link below.

Maybe some day there will be a real balance of ideas down here.

Second Poll Confirms Senate Race is Tied

Shawn Dixon September 27th, 2008

For the second time in a week a new poll out confirms what this website has been arguing for over a year and a half now: Mitch McConnell is a vulnerable and beatable candidate. A poll conducted by Mason-Dixon and commissioned by the Courier-Journal found the race tied with both McConnell and Bruce Lunsford receiving 41% of the vote each.

This is very exciting news and shows that last week’s Survey USA poll was not an outlier.

When the McConnell campaign heard of the new numbers they wasted no time giving the press a preview of how nasty they intend to make this race over the next five weeks. McConnnell’s chief propagandist Justin Brasell quickly released a nasty statement that attacked Lunsford personally. He made clear that they will try to make this race about Bruce Lunsford in order to divert attention away from Mitch McConnell’s quarter century of corruption and failed leadership in the US Senate.

Too little, too late. This is going to be a fun race.

These guys and gals got all the money they need by being crooked, so it won't bother them too much to lose their seats, they'll act all sad, but shit they got away with theft and bribery, and now they're set for life for generations.

I was surprised today when I opened the morning paper and saw how close Lundford was to McConnell.

For a multi-term incumbent like McConnell, that can't be good news. Of course he attributed the poll results to the built-in skew that exists on the paper's editorial board.

For the record, however, I see very few McConnell bumper stickers or yard signs this year.

I have no illusions that he will lose, but it sure does feel good to say out loud that he's really going to have to fight for it this time!
