VH1 is playing Rush concerts all day today.

Another reason to get cable again.

Haven't heard that in ages. My brother worshipped Rush when he was in his garage band period.

Did he ever make it out of the garage?

He turned down every opportunity handed him for a short term gain. Turned down a scholarship at the Berkli Conservatorium, opening act for a regional tour, even a spot on a movie soundtrack, all for one reason or another.

All of the talent in the world means spit if you lack the willingness to use it.

and yet there are people who would jump at the chance to do that stuff.

Sounds a bit like my roommate. World's most reluctant rock star.

I love Rush. Especially their Grace Under Pressure album.

Grace Under Pressure was one of the best, I think.

There is something about them. They consistently do good music, even if they do change their style from time to time. You can usually tell it's a Rush album because of the way their composition and lyrics work.

Snakes and Ladders may sound modern, but it also definitely sounds like a Rush album. I just wonder how they do it?

I'm going to give him one more opportunity, to do the soundtrack for my movie, then I'm giving up on him being anything beyond a coulda-been.
