From the MANITOBA HERALD, Canada: The flood of American liberals
sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week,
sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration.

The possibility of a McCain/Palin election is prompting the exodus among
left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray,
and agree with Bill O'Reilly.

Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology
professors, animal rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields
at night.

I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood
producer huddled in the barn,' said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield,
whose acreage borders North Dakota.

The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. 'He asked me if I could
spare a latte and some free-range chicken.

When I said I didn't have any, he left. Didn't even get a chance to show
him my screenplay, eh?'

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher
fences, but the liberals scaled them. So he tried installing speakers
that blare Rush Limbaugh across the fields. 'Not real effective,' he
said.
'The liberals still got through, and Rush annoyed the cows so much they
wouldn't give milk.'

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals
near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons, drive
them across the border and leave them to fend for themselves.

'A lot of these people are not prepared for rugged conditions,' an
Ontario border patrolman said. 'I found one carload without a drop of
drinking water. 'They did have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet,
though.'

When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often
wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors
have been circulating about the McCain administration establishing
re-education camps in which liberals will be forced to shoot wolves from
airplanes, deny evolution, and act out drills preparing them for the
Rapture.

In recent days, liberals have turned to sometimes-ingenious ways of
crossing the border. Some have taken to posing as senior citizens on
bus trips to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a
half-dozen young vegans disguised in powdered wigs, Canadian
immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed
senior-citizen passengers on Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney hits to
prove they were alive in the '50s.

'If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show,
we get suspicious about their age,' an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are
creating an organic-broccoli shortage and renting all the good Susan
Sarandon movies.

'I feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't
support them,' an Ottawa resident said. 'How many art-history and
English majors does one country need?'

Hilarious! Did you write this, Xray?

Personally, I plan on going south if the repugs succeed in rigging this election. St Maarten or maybe the Yucatan, somewhere between Cancun and Costa Maya...

You forgot the part about their long caravans of beat up Saabs and Volvos piled high with their pitiful belongings, Cuisinarts, back issues of "Architectural Digest", Bikram Yoga mats, Espresso machines and exercise machines. All the while brandishing copies of "The Nation" like some modern-day Dust Bowl refugees.

Cash incentives available if you can get your citizenship before October 14th. (Offer only applies if you will vote Liberal or NDP ... okay, Bloc Quebecois, too.)

Conservatives will be tased at the border ... we'll be polite, though, and apologize after ...

I went over the border a couple weeks ago and the guard was cavalier enough to admit the Canadian Government is preparing for an influx of Americans should the American market tank. Good thing I have family there, LOL.

There's always refugee status - just don't try it at the border, you've got to get here first and then do it ...

http://www.canadavisa.com/canadian-immigra...gee-status.html

3. What are typical examples of Refugee cases that are accepted ?

"As of December 2004, refugees entering Canada by land from the United States are no longer allowed to make their refugee claims at the Canadian Port of Entry. However, this does not apply to refugees who make their refugee claim from inside of Canada, regardless of how they arrived. It does not apply to people arriving at Canadian airports even if they first passed through the U.S. Even in claims made at the U.S. - Canada border, exceptions apply for children under 18, and for refugees who have extended family members in Canada including parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts."

Buoyed by a recent turnaround in economic fortunes, Saskatchewan can no longer be considered just a have-not province of seemingly endless farmers' fields, the premier of the Prairie province said Monday in Toronto as he appealed to workers to head west to find jobs.

"We have to do a little bit of rebranding still in our province, so that this new reality, this new brand, is well known," Brad Wall said at a luncheon speech to a business crowd.

"It's not just a great place to make a living — it's a great place to make a life. That's our message when we're here."

Strong commodities markets and an abundance of natural resources like potash and uranium are boosting Saskatchewan's economy, and now the province is attracting residents instead of losing them, as has been the trend over the past 20 years.

In his speech, Wall sprinkled in some little-known facts about his province: it sells more oil to the United States than Kuwait, and Saskatchewan uranium provides six per cent of America's electricity.

Wall's government is hoping to woo laid-off workers from Ontario's battered manufacturing sector. Saskatchewan politicians brought 50 companies from the province to Toronto for the country's largest job fair, which starts Tuesday.

There are an estimated 10,000 unfilled jobs in Saskatchewan, according to the province.

Michael Fougere, president of the Saskatchewan Construction Association, said his 1,200-member group of firms is desperate for skilled workers.

"They're dying for people," Fougere said of the members in his association, which represents all non-residential construction in the province.

Fougere, who is also a city councillor in Regina, planned to visit the Toronto job show in hopes of bringing back piles of resumes for 70 construction companies looking for electricians, carpenters, cabinet makers, roofers and sheet-metal workers.

"I have 624 actual jobs that are available today," he said. "These are not sort of wish lists — these are actual positions that these companies would take today."

No it was sent to me in an E-mail. If it's original writing by XRS it would be colorized.

I first saw this e-mail after the Kerry Debacle. The cons thought they were so cute.
True story though, I did have a high school classmate that renounced his U.S. citizenship and moved to Canada when Raygun was elected the first time. It did cause quite a legal hubbub when he moved back after Clinton was elected. Never did find out how that came out for him.

Oh wow, that's good information Chiffon, mcc1, and stoon!

My concern is the drive to make a north american union, then what? That would suck for Canada. But I guess if people are desperate in the short term, Canada would be nice. I like Canadians smile.gif
