He's one of the most talented actors working on any screen, but has managed to remain obscure. Maybe he's trying to raise his profile a bit.

I'm kinda looking forward to this series. May not watch it regularly but it might make for an interesting watch now and then.

OK ... let me see if I understand the premise ... so far I've seen the trailer and that's it.

He dies, and because he dies, he wakes up in 1973? Is that sort of the gist of it?

BTW, I'm not sure I get this new show "Pushing Up Daisies" either. If this guy can raise the dead with the touch of a finger, why doesn't he just walk through every morgue on Earth and get cracking?

There's lots of people he could bring back... even if the criterion is that they died recently.

I think that how he wound up in '73 is a mystery, the solving of which is one of the major story arcs.

It's a remake of this BBC series:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478942/

When I first saw the title, I thought of this guy:

Marvin the Martian

But as long as they're recycling BBC Series, why not recycle one of these two?

Hamish MacBeth

Red Dwarf, Would Anybody Like Any Toast?

I say bring back the original Dr. Who.

US, as in not:

And they even had Robert Llewelyn as Kryten.

Smegging got it now?

This looks like a cool show, I will watch it tomorrow. That is funny he gets hit in the gut, what an ass his boss is.

It's a delightful show - all a fantasy with a look a little reminiscent of Oz, but New York Oz.

The premise is that he can touch a person or animal and bring them back to life, but for only one minute. If he does not touch them again before the minute is up, they will remain alive, but someone else in the general area dies at random - and they cannot be brought back.

If he touches someone, let's them stay alive - with the requisite other person dying - he can never touch the resurrected again. If he does, they die permanently. Upon figuring out all of this as a boy, his beloved dog was hit by a truck, and he brought the dog back. But still today he can't pet his dog again or it will instantly die.

The show exhibits quite a dark POV, is jam-packed with terrific Broadway actors, and has a wonderfully dark sense of humor. Lots of odd characters, and a cartoony production design.

Oh, and BTW, I like the show. But it is very... quirky. You will not see and be reminded of anything you've seen before.

Re-reading my own description it sounds like something I would NEVER watch. But I do.

With rare exceptions. The original Ricky Gervais "The Office" was very funny. NBC's version is different, but also very funny.

As I understand it, he's not necessarily killed. He may have lived after the accident - he just "wakes up" as himself, but in '73. It simply isn't known what happened... yet.

A secret to weighing shows in advance has little to do with trying to judge storylines. take a look at the production team. In this case, it's a show created and written by David E. Kelley. the initial director is Tommy Schlamme. That's a 1st class start.

Of course, pedigree isn't a guarantee. This season Stephen Bochco brought us "Raising the Bar," and it's a cheap piece of crap. I could be paid to work on it, but I'd raise my quote. And I probably couldn't be paid enough to watch it.

quirky is definitely the word...and the description is spot on....I LOVE this show!! Now if they'd put it on before or after 'ugly betty' life on free tv would be sweet for me....

LOVE how Vanessa Williams chews up the scenery on the show.... by far the ONLY MISS AMERICA you'll ever remember.... laugh.gif
