BroD--Thanks for this, I figured you were on it. Mr. Cool is just that, cool. I have checked and rechecked to make sure I'm good to go and I am. The weird thing is my wife tried to register in our new place and was informed that she cannot vote here, and that is a lie. I will order his book, I hope it's not too late. REFUSE PROVISIONAL BALLOTS!!!
Gwynogsrabbit
biggrin.gif Gosh, he's all over the place right now! thumbsup.gif

That purging of voters in Colorado - I wonder if any DAs in Colorado will bother to investigate her? Is it heavily republican? It really is true, control the judicial system and you can do anything you want.

Yep.

Tap! ohmy.gif What excuse did they give?

My husband made sure we could vote, on deadline day laugh.gif We ALWAYS vote so he was worried we'd be a high target. If something was wrong he was going to snatch me up and run to the courthouse! laugh.gif

My question is: what happens if they purge people AFTER the registration deadline? I plan on taking my camera with me, so if they tell me I can't vote, I'll tell them the burden of proof is on them, and refuse to leave, and will record everything.

GREAT NEWS!!! WE CRASHED THE SERVER!

I was able to donate (I gave $20.00) but I can't download the book.

SERVER IS TOO BUSY!!!

I'll try later.

GREAT JOB RR listeners! Now let's get the word out and pass around these books.

I live in L.A. and didn't think they'd try it here, why waste the effort - if Obama loses California, you know the vote was stolen. But these schmucks are so schmucky they don't have the brains not to meddle where it will easily be noticed.

What schmucks!

Thanks for opening my eyes, Greg.

What about Florida and Ohio? Isn't that a little different this time? They have Democratic Governors now.

Also, this time, we all know their tricks. We have Palast and RFK on the beat. I can't help but think that things are better now than 2000. But I have to put HAVA in the negative column. Another trick brought to you by Bush.

Steal Back Your Vote!

Bobby Kennedy Jr. and I have had it UP TO HERE. They stole 2000. They stole 2004. Now, they’re snatching it again. So Bobby and I are doing the most important thing we can do in a crisis of democracy: write an investigative comic book.

Here it is: Steal Back Your Vote is out today. Download it right now at StealBackYourVote.ORG

Its 24 full-color pages cut open the Rove-arian cancer on our ballot box: the Six Ways They’re Stealing Your Vote – plus a two-page pull-out guide – 7 Ways to Steal it Back.
Print it out. Pass it out. Right now
.
Or you can order copies (minimum 25) here at StealBackYourVote.org

To cover costs, we’re asking you to make a donation – it can be a buck, ten bucks, a penny, a grand. This will pay for print copies we’re sending to vulnerable voters. (We’ll send them gratis to churches designated by our co-sponsor, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Operation Rainbow/PUSH.)

And tonight: go to StealBackYourVote.org and

watch the BBC Television report from London by Greg Palast with Bobby Kennedy on the strange disappearance of several million voters from US voter rolls. And while you’re there, download the guide and order print copies.

And join co-sponsors Voto Latino, Randi Rhodes, Willie Nelson, Jesse Jackson, Thom Hartmann, Air America Radio, Democracy for America and more by adding your group as sponsor at StealBackYourVote.org.

More examples from the comic book that will save America:
From Steal #2: The Colorado Republican Secretary of State erased 19.4% off the names on that swing-state’s voter rolls. One in five voters – pfft!. Bush then named her to be Chairwoman of the Federal Elections Assistance Commission. (We hear Bush wanted to give her the title, “Purge’n General.”)
From Steal #3: Spoiling America. ‘Few Americans realize that in 2004, 1,389,231 ballots were never counted because they were “spoiled.” Were they left out of the fridge?’
From Steal #4: Nuns on the Run. So these 10 nuns walk into a polling station and… Oh, you’ve heard that one? What you didn’t here: 143,896 other voters were told to scram in swing-state Indiana. Nearly half of them… African American.

BugsBunny--Here's what I have in front of me, granted we have moved into a heavily rw county, it say's and I quote,

Unfortunately we are unable to accept your change of address

for the following reasons:

Change of address applications may only be taken from persons who are currently registered to vote in Kane county.

We used to live in DuPage county, they accepted my application, but rejected my wifes'. This is what he is talking about. Total BS.

It's been down at least since he was on Thom's show earlier. I need to get the 800 number for election protection lawyers to post it on local blogs.

Tap-have her call the elections supervisor's office in the county she was registered in and ask what she has to do to be able to register in the county where she now lives. There is a caging model that won't let people register if they are still registered in another county, even if you show proof in the new county that you now live there. Make sure her ID is changed, also.
TapDuncan
I just got off the phone with the elections office, apparently they spelled my name wrong (They're different last names) and I will be sent a new card, and she has to go and show 2 forms of ID TODAY and she gets to vote at the same time!!! BTW, the girl was from Britain!? She knows who Palast is, and likes him!!! Talk about Twilight Zone shit... Anyway, she is going to leave any minute now, I only hope I get my card in time! If not, it would be the first time I haven't voted in 25 years, and I cannot let that happen. Cross your fingers and toes!!!

I said to the lady, welcome to American Politics and she laughed, I then asked if she likes Greg Palast, and she said oh he's very popular on the BBC!!! Where do I live?

This is fantastic.

We have probably THE most active Drinking Liberally group (we had a dunk tank at the fair and raised a lot of money, we had a float in our - very conservative city's - fourth of july parade, and we sound off regularly about news of note). This is going to go over sooooooooooooo well. We're having a debate party tonight - I shall unleash this upon those who are there.

THANK-YOU GREG, BOBBY, RANDI. I don't have ANY money to do much (in fact my friend is donating to the comic book site for me) but I do have a ton of passion and I am thrilled at every opportunity to use it. You guys make me smile!

I wish. Our governor is still Charlie Crist ®, who even found a "beard" in order to be considered as McCain's running mate. Too bad, so sad, he wasn't picked ... many predict his nuptials will be called off.

He's better than Jeb Bush - I'll give you that - although I liked him a lot more before he reneged on his promise not to drill offshore of our coast.

BTW, Florida is once again purging newly registered voters using a "no match" list (i.e. people whose names don't match other state database records). I repeat again: if you live in Florida and you suspect you may have made a slight mistake on your registration application, you could have accidentally wound up on the "no match" list... I strongly recommend you check and make sure, otherwise you will get a provisional ballot on Nov. 4.

How in the hell can we be allowing this kind of blatant theft?!!!! How are the House and Senate Democrats not drafting a "Fairness Doctine" for voter reform? Enough of this quaint, "Every state gets to vote how they choose" bullshit and come up with something uniform, ironclad, and tamper-proof. In 2004, even before I knew who R.R. was, I was issued a 'provisional ballot' because I had just moved back home to take care of my aging parents. I was already receiving mail back home and my driver's license and all the legal stuff was taken care of...but now that I think on it, that woman (heavily Republican district---Nixon's hometown) was just the type who could have thrown away my provisional ballot. She was very smarmy. And the little bluehairs who ran the thing...with all the trappings of Bush and the war and all. Wow. Never crossed my mind to double-check. I will never be that naive again. Talk about your innocence lost. Shit.

nonclassical

of course Palast is a "wanted" man..it seem he was in New Orleans post Katrina..he decided to figure out HOW Katrina managed to destroy the city..as pumps are quite good-always have been ready..he went to LSU, who had always managed DISASTER RESPONSE, only to find said response had been
PRIVATIZED..so, he went to see who the privateers (pun intended) were, and to see their response plan..guess what..video shows him going into building, asking to meet with someone in authority, and
noone coming out to meet him...except, after some time, cameras rolling, security guards..

so, Palast gets in car, drives out to see New Orleans citizens in trailers, videoing oil refinery as he goes..Homeland Security now wants to arrest him, for videoing "security" operations...

then there's the video of him interviewing the Shell Oil CEO in London, who tells him Bush approached
Shell to offer the "privatized resources" of Iraq..some months before invasion..CEO's name is "Carrol"..

We lived in a podunk town for fifteen years. We went to vote (at the church by the way - always at the mormon church in these podunk towns) we were sent packing, we weren't "allowed" to vote, we were TOLD we weren't on the paperwork.

This is the county that is literally throwing distance from the reddest county in the USA. We show up in tattoos and tie-dye. You THINK we weren't on the paperwork?

This was many many years ago and at the time I was still pretty green about the ways elections are forbidden for some of us. I know better now.
