Seems noone remembers that R. Reagan changed the way "unemployment" statistics are reported;

towit: Fox News today is reporting (continuing their corporate agenda) that we are NOT NOT NOT entering into a "depression era economic" circumstance..AND they are using manipulated unemployment statistics to LIE to the American people..HOW?..well....

Fox is reporting a 6% unemployment rate..well, in the first place, that's NOT the unemployment rate,
it's the NUMBER OF NEW UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIMS FOR THE WEEK..which means NEW NEW NEW unemployment claims, NEW as in, IF YOU EVER took unemployment ANYTIME prior to this week, you
are not counted..huh?!? all true..it's SUPPOSED to be reported as NEW unemployment claims, and THIS is what NEW means..

THEN, only 2 of 3 people who APPLY for unemployment GET it..the other third are denied benefits; don't count...

THEN, anyone who has RUN OUT of unemployment benefits DON'T COUNT..

THEN, anyone who NEVER applied, but is out of work, doesn't count..

SOOOO, let's figure the actual numbers of "unemployed" in the U.S. SO FAR, are at least DOUBLE the
Bushit statistics being stated on Fox and elsewhere..but they are also rapidly rising..

I trust all Randi's listeners are as SICK SICK SICK as I am of being LIED TO by corporate media..
It's a total lack of transparency that has caused this meltdown, caused the internationally illegal "war-occupation" in Iraq, and continues to CAUSE economic malady..

yet the powers that be have made a decision that throwing American taxpayer monies at the financial sector is more germane to the issue than simple TRANSPARENCY..that's some secret behind the curtain..

I can't remember where I saw it but, real estimates on the number in the black community is over 24%, which is the number at the height of the depression.

The sad part is a lot of those folks have been made into a permanent class of unemployable. Due to new employment rules.

Having been in education myself, both within the U.S. and in Europe (where fully-educated workforces
are the goal), I might mention that there are more Black Americans incarcerated every year than are
in college-higher ed. Sometime I'll make mention more of the differences between U.S. and European education..but the basics are; 20% of Americans graduated from a 4 year university or comparable vocational experience...in Europe, that number is between 70 and 80%..there's good
reason for that disparity..and it also plays in terms of U.S. test scores, which our government likes to compare to world test scores WITHOUT comparing HOW various societies make their systems differently operate..
