I'm almost reluctant to raise the subject because I am broke and work all the damn time, so consequently I haven't spent time contributing to the effort to elect Obama as much as others here. Staying informed and passing along what I learn to others in my regular life is about the extent of my political involvement so far. Yet the election of Barack Obama to the Presidency of the United States is still a victory I look forward to celebrating. Sure, I haven't thrown in the effort to make it happen that many here have. But I still intend to celebrate it when it happens.

So in the spirit of celebration I thought it might be interesting to see if anyone were interested in an election night gathering of some sort. Worst case scenario is that it becomes the first meeting of those who can help plan the revolution in the Portland area should Obama be robbed, but I think that possibility is moving further and further away and we should maybe plan on drinks and streamers instead of camoflauge and candles.

As mentioned, I'm not a rich man unless one is using a strictly spiritual measure to make that determination. I've also got a very tiny studio apartment so hosting such an event is not in the cards. But considering the number of Portland area contributors I thought we might be able to put our heads together and see if we can come up with something more significant than serial dandruff.

Anyone interested? Should we find a McMenamins or something and plan on a Portland area meetup of RRMB'ers for Obama?

I'd be up for it, but unfortunately I'll be working another 12.5 hour graveyard stint at work to keep a roof over my head. If that changes, I'll get back to ya. tongue.gif

Sure. And I thought I had it bad with closing shifts that ended at 9:30.
