Which elbow was it? Did you break your left elbow, forcing you to have to learn how to do things with your right hand and impacting your sinisteriness?

Sympathy below.
But seriously, sinister: will you be getting designer slings to match your $200k outfits like La McCain?

Right elbow - fell on a concrete driveway palm-first. Had a plate in the other hand so my right arm took the brunt of the blow. Still pretty sinister - more so perhaps since I can only type (or do much of anything) with my left hand now. Broke the head of my ulna, which I think is the 'funny bone.' However, the pain is less funny than you might think.

SB---Did you spill the plate? What was on it? Franks and beans? JK, you know that, that is the worst un-funny funny bone break, I know, I've done it too. I had a kid at summer camp swing a baseball bat at me a little too close, and he hit me in the ulna, and it broke, so we have that in common. I hope you get well real soon, remember when I broke my left hand weeks ago? I am just now able to type capably. Best Wishes Amigo, Tap.
P.S.--Really what was on the plate? I need to know....

lol it was a salmon spread, and surprisingly it and the plate landed on the grass next to the driveway and were pretty much unharmed.

SB--Well salmon are very slippery, especially when they're spreading themselves out!!! Was there a beer involved? Did it lose it's life? You started this!!!!

Major sympathies sinister! Been there, done that! Well, don't know if I broke the ulna, just that I "chipped" the elbow falling off my bike trying to save my tape player (that became a very expensive tape player), then finished the job slipping off the side of the water bed and nailing the wood with the elbow.
My father always taught me to never leave a job unfinished!
Right now I'm typing with a brace on my right hand, got me some carpal tunnel. Tests to follow next Friday. Love them tests!
And yes, very glad to have health insurance now, but if McInsane gets in, I'll have to give it up if MSU doesn't give it up first.

I hope you didn't totally sever the olecranon. That can be a major problem later. The size of a fracture can be misleading sometimes, especially if it is in the end of a bone away from the insertion of the blood supply.
One of the injuries that forced me into early retirement from the Army was a non-displaced fracture through the surgical neck of my left humerus, proximal to the blood supply. Developed avascular necrosis. Now i have a titanium insert in the marrow cavity because the head collapsed.
Really amusing when I have to go to the county-city building for anything and walk through the metal detector gate.
My left clavicle still gives me pain from when I did a nose-dive off my bicycle seven years ago, and I am just now able to sit without pain after breaking my coccyx this summer.
Fractures totally suck.
