Does anyone else find the soft little chuckles or barely heard comments of Randi's producer (or maybe board op) disconcerting?
I want 100% Randi -- no additional creepy, quiet comments are needed. What do ya'll think?

Creepy?
Wow, I dont get that at all
Randi's show initially on AAR and prior to AAR always had interaction with others in the studio, and I think Randi is more comfortable with that and I know many listeners enjoy it...
I am just grateful she has a place to be heard!

It's a bit of hit or miss. I found that the random noises he interjected yesterday were definitely annoying and interfered with the natural flow of the program, especially in the middle of phone calls.

I listened to her on Air America and she rarely had anyone but guests on the air with her. As for being able to tell she is having fun, she never seems to acknowledge or feed off any of the comments "Chuckles" makes. Anyway, one assumes she has the format she wants so good luck to her.

I like it that she has someone to reflect back. I did like Randi alone, but she's very sociable and it always felt like she needed a buddy there too, just because that's how she seems to be! And he does add stuff that makes her laugh!

I love the sidekicks she is obviously more relaxed now then she was,
Though is it inpolitic to mention that Randi has her own mooks now...

I love the exchanges because they all seem to genuinely like each other. It's comfortable, funny and
serious. When she was on AAR there were times you could tell she was miserable. This format rocks
and I look forward to it every day.

I don't mind the banter at all. Randi has returned to her element and if she wants another person doing exchanges with her in the studio I say YOU GO GIRL!! You can tell a big difference in her since she returned to the place she enjoys so much. I'm happy for her and her fans because I think we're gonna all benefit from the new set up!

I think she's clearly more comfortable WITH him, she likes working with him, and heaven knows he'd be gone in about 4 seconds if she didn't. But I think he thinks he's funnier than I think he is. And I don't want to hear his contributions as often as he wants us to hear them.

I like her with Duffy in-house, if only because it means that even the "voice" of AAR is on the side of Randi.

I have been listening to Randi for a year now, and I do see a differance in her disposition, she was projecting a discomfort in her show that I attributed to her discourse of the dems destined figure 8 course.
She is very happy now, and still laughs at the dems and the repubs both, her sence of humor is a perfect harmony with the discussion of deceit and treachery of this Constitutional Crisis. Her friends are the ones that helped her get back on the show, so we owe them a debt of gratitude!

Creepy might be a bit to strong. I'd just say out of place, seems more
like a morning zoo type personality (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Randi is really great. She's funny, witty, and can be biting.
But she is always intelligent. Randi does seem happy with the new show.
It's really wonderful she's on Nova M now, but she needs a sidekick that might
match her intellect .

I'm going out on a limb here...I think the "purists" are Northeastern listeners. I live in the Northeast and I can remember how frigging annoying Randi's side kick, Tim was, to me. Who knows, maybe if he'd had a better mike it would not have been as irritating.
That said..many of us grew up with story tellers on talk radio...Gene Sheppard comes to mind. Extra voices connotated (sic) cartoon radio
But, since Randi has returned to Palm Beach, she is sounding so much happier, and Duffy if frigging GREAT. I dunno who writes his shtick, but the microphone loves his voice. Kudos to Duffy's writers!!!!!
Oh, and "Scud lite" uttered from the peanut gallery the other day was ...made me LOL

This is a little snide. Just my opinion, but a little snide for a newbie.
If you really know RR's show, you'll know that before AAR she had the same production staff. So it is refreshing to have her back in her element -- and with a truly professional radio crew, not the paperclip and scotch tape outfit that is Scare America under the Greene Brothers.

Sidekick is fine.
I go way back with Randi when she was first at WJNO. Then she had Tim Allan. Some of the funniest / edgiest shows she did was with him. I will always remember the "protest" in the free speech zone in Miami when Tim got "shot" while on air with the rubber bullets. It really opened some eyes as to how much we are being abused and ignored.
Randi Rocks!
