IT'S FRIDAY, YA BASTARDS!

The Scott-bot showed up for a nice long sit down with Olby and confessed he lied, spun, obfuscated and suppressed the truth. Uh huh, tell me something I didn’t know.

OK…

9/11 was seen as an “opportunity” for Bush/Cheney to invade Iraq. Why? Well, there is a new oxymoron in the lexicon “coercive democracy”. Less elegantly put, Democracy at gunpoint, or Why I love THE BOMB. So the focus was never on “the terrorists” or “Wanted Dead or Alive”. It was more “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb IRAQ”. Got it? Good.

Scott’s turning point was not 9/11 and the failure to respond to those heinous attacks, or Shock and Awe bombing of an unarmed nation, or finding no WMD, or the mismanagement of post invasion Iraq, Abu Gharib, the cover up of Pat Tillman’s’ friendly fire death up to and including the burning of his uniform and lying to his parents, or the ban on honoring the dead by the press, or the people on their roof tops begging for someone to save them while Bush did a photo op a week later, …nope. The turning point for Scott was when Bush and Cheney, Rove and Libby lied to HIM. Crazy what gets a guy pissed.

Scott was famous for denying access to reporters who didn’t tow the Administrations BLOODY OIL WAR agenda but he continues to blame the “liberal media” for failing to report. He’d have a point if there WAS a “liberal media”!

WHY MEDIA MATTERS and what you can do to save it TODAY

http://www.freepress.net/start_here

But I digress.

Scott should expect subpoenas from The House Judiciary Committee and yes to lose “friends” With friends like these…

Tomorrow is the Big Meeting! The DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee will meet to determine how to seat Florida and Michigan’s’ delegates. In every scenario I’ve seen Obama still wins the delegate count, and unless the DNC rules that NO ONE in Michigan (not even in Detroit) voted for Obama, then he remains ahead in the popular vote as well. However, we pick our nominee based on delegates not the popular vote. Sheesh. Hillary supporters will be doing the “Brooks Brothers” protest outside and the Revolution WILL be televised tomorrow. Expect a lot of breathless pundits and middle aged women to gather for endless commentary.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told the San Francisco Chronicle Editorial Board in a long recorded interview (below) that she will intervene if a nominee has not been clearly identified before the Democratic National Convention.

Ok. Obama’s church invited a guest speaker. Chicago Priest Father Pfleger appeared at Trinity to give a sermon on slavery and responsibility. He mocked Hillary and it’s not good. Video below. What Father Pfleger said was true and funny but the media READ ‘CONSERVATIVE MEDIA” will have a field day with this because apparently they have been told we’re voting for a SUPREME AYATOLLAH not a President. When did we become Iran?

HOW IS THE MEDIA (including The Randi Rhodes Show) COVERING THE CANDIDATES?

A study by the PEW RESEARCH CENTER's Project for Excellence in Journalism and the JOAN SHORENSTEIN CENTER ON PRESS, POLITICS AND PUBLIC POLICY at HARVARD tracking news media coverage of the campaign says that a sampling of talk radio shows gave HILLARY CLINTON more attention than BARACK OBAMA or JOHN MCCAIN but heaped more negative attention on MCCAIN.

OBAMA received positive attention in 67% of assertions by liberal talkers and 55% of conservative talkers' assertions. The study noted that conservative talkers during the study period (JANUARY 1-MARCH 9) were critical of MCCAIN for not being conservative enough. The shows included in the study included NPR's "MORNING EDITION" and the syndicated RUSH LIMBAUGH, SEAN HANNITY, MICHAEL SAVAGE, ED SCHULTZ, and RANDI RHODES shows.

In the overall media landscape, the study says that positive coverage of OBAMA and CLINTON was roughly equal (OBAMA at 69%, CLINTON at 67%) while both were given more positive coverage than MCCAIN (43%).

I've faulted Hillary for a lot of her own "stuff" (what she did to her self) but I've always thought her tears were real and in the context of the moment. That's just based on my feeling or my gut.

All this homework on a Friday? Geez! I don't have time for this. I'm going to be spending the weekend celebrating the career of the great Harvey Korman.

RE: "Look What They've done To Our Girl"

I am a middle-aged, "hard-working", white woman. By Hillary's rhetoric, I am her demographic and should be supporting her - I'm not. This business of espousing that they wanted this for their daughters and grand-daughters just because Hillary is a woman candidate is total non-reason to vote for her. I care more about the country than that. They should too.

Because I bleed blue and am a true Dem, if Hillary ended up the nominee, I always felt I would have voted for her, even if I had to hold my nose while doing it. But her behavior, her changing of the goal posts and her Rovian campaign tactics are slowly eroding that thought away for me. She has damn little time to redeem herself.

It pains me to have to say this. The Clintons were people I revered and admired in days and years past. To watch their slide into the Fox New style political abyss of smear and spin is one of the most heart-wrenching things I have seen in my political life. I am sorely disappointed in them. sad.gif
