TODAY'S GUESTS on ARTICLES of IMPEACHMENT

- Hour 1: Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL)

- Hour 2: John Dean & Jonathan Turley

What if the President was impeached and no one reported it?

Last night for almost 4 hours, Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) introduced 35 Articles of Impeachment against President Bush. Included were the charges of running a Propaganda machine out of the White House, Failure to act on warnings about 9/11, Failure to act on warnings of a catastrophic hurricane, failure to supply proper body amour and Humvees to soldiers in a war zone, failure to ensure the laws were faithfully executed on torture, rendition and warrant less wiretapping of American citizens. It was a sad thing to hear all of the Bush Crimes in one presentation. It’s even sadder to know that IMPEACHMENT is OFF THE TABLE according to Nancy Pelosi.

You might remember that in November of 2007 Congressman Kucinich introduced articles of Impeachment for Vice President Dick. There was a vote to TABLE (KILL) Resolution 333 but the Republicans played games with that vote and instead of killing it, referred the Resolution to The House Judiciary Committee. Congressman Robert Wexler put up a website to take America’s temperature on Impeaching VP Dick and over 280,000 people signed up almost immediately in favor. Now Scott McClellan verifies that WE WERE RIGHT. There was an organized effort in the WH to OUT VALERIE PLAME. We await Mr. McClellan’s voluntary testimony to be given to the House Judiciary Committee on June 20th.

The Economy is just getting worse, and Grandpa McCain gave a ‘SPEECH’ this morning calling for more tax cuts for the wealthy and more CORPORATE tax cuts.

Obama’s economic plan includes a return to PAY AS YOU GO government.

Oil prices are UP again today.

Below is an article about an amputee who max’d out her health insurance benefits and had to take a loan to pay for her prosthetic limb? THIS IS AMERICA?

In November of 2007 Kucinich introduced Articles of Impeachment against Cheney. Gaining many co-sponsors and Congressional support the articles were introduced and an effort to kill the Resolution failed. Res 333 was referred to the Juciciary Committee were no action has been taken.

Kucinich was great last night. I don't think anything will come of it.
I hope I'm wrong about that. I just heard on the Hartmann show that John Conyers is asking people to refute his top five arguments against impeachment.

From the homework:

QUOTE
The determining factor in each of these states will be turnout, and more specifically black turnout. In these 6 states the average turnout in 2004 was 54%, black turnout was approximately 60%. I think it is safe to assume that with Barack Obama on the ballot both of these numbers will increase, perhaps significantly. Take into account also the candidacy of Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate. If he got even 5% of the votes in his home state of Georgia it could turn that state from red to blue.

Finally, someone is seriously considering a_blue_georgia. It's about time. (I'm betting that Barr will get 12%.)

So they buried the Cheney Impeachment.... what will they do with this one.

I watched Kucinich and emailed my friends to tell them.

The funny thing is that we knew this in May when they denied Bush another increase. At that point, they had already boosted production by 300,000 bbl/day in May alone. It's insane for this to have had any effect on oil prices, which shows you how insane the whole system is.

I found this... LINK

Last night, for roughly four hours on the floor of the House of Representatives, something historic happened. Dennis Kucinich introduced formal Articles of Impeachemnt against President Bush.

Speaking only for myself--NPI has not met formally to discuss this--I can only offer a huge Halleluja! to Dennis Kucinich for finally doing what should have been done years ago.

The Articles include 35 specific points, covering everything from lying about the reasons for war with Iraq to gross negligence on Katrina to spying on Americans in violation of the Fourth Amendment to establishing secret laws via the executive Office of Legal Council to suspending the Writ of Habeas Corpus. It's quite the list.

Oddly, John Conyers' response to the near immediate call that his committee--Conyers is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee--take up the articles and hold hearings was to demand that those who would see justice done here first provide compelling rebuttals to five excuses reasons why he shouldn't do so. I say "oddly" because it was Conyers himself who extensively documented the very abuses of power in question in a 2006 book he wrote called The Constitution in Crisis. DailyKos has a lovely thread taking up many quite valid rebuttals to Conyers' objections, which I won't repeat here.

I hope that one of those articles of impeachment was the failure and refusal to apply regulations, and directing agencies not to follow regulations. The first example would be the Commodities Futures Trading Commision(CFTC). This agency is supposed to be regulating futures trading has ceased doing its job under direction of the Bush administration...
Yellowbird
Dear Friend:

Under circumstances that can best be described as "suspicious," the www.kucinich.us website was crippled early this morning a few hours after Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced 35 extensively documented Articles of Impeachment against President George W. Bush.

Until we can restore the website and implement additional security measures, you can find the full list and detailed Articles at
http://www.democrats.com/files/amomentoftruth.pdf
and http://chun.afterdowningstreet.org/amomentoftruth.pdf

If you would like to show your support for the Congressman's efforts, please go to myinfo.kucinich.us to offer your comments and provide us with contact information so that we can continue to keep you informed.

Thank you
Committee to Re-Elect Congressman Kucinich

The CFTC, the FDA, the EPA, the CPSC, ... they stifled enforcement by appointing industry insiders, inept leaders, or nobody at all. The also worked counter to their missions in many ways through improper regulatory rulings (legislating from the chair).
