Wow, another one bites the dust, well at least he didn't have to see the first black President, that would've killed him too.

I'm listening to ABC local news and they interrupted a story to make the announcement. I don't see anything on Google News, either.
They just confirmed it. I hope he wasn't visited by an "Angel of Death" from the WH.

It's crazy how the media has changed so rapidly in the past few years. Within a matter of minutes the internet and cable news went from nothing to being all about this story...I mean literally minutes.
When first trying to find an article on this, I happened to check Wikipedia and it was already reported there however there was no citation at that time.

I bet his heart broke when he realized what's really going on in this country with respect to the deregulation of energy. While many of us were disappointed when he'd drop the ball with respect to asking his guests the hard questions. On the whole, he did a really good job and I found his show, Meet the Press, to be very enjoyable.
My condolences to his family.

This is what he was doing only 2 hours ago... working online...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25137286/Pretty damn depressing. Massive heart attack and you're gone.
My lasting image of Russert will always be how he worked that wipe board during the Bush- Gore 2000 election night returns... I could not believe NBC could not afford anything better than a dime store wipe off board but now that I think about it... it was so simple and pure.. before we knew what was about to hit our nation... The Bush Crime Family Era...
Hope you enjoyed your ride, Tim. {}

I am in absolute shock. Not only was Mr. Russert a young man; in the prime of his life, he was the one who brought back integrity to political journalism. He pulled no punches and told it like it is. He revolutionised political journalism and the way one should conduct interviews. My heart goes out to Mr. Russerts family, which includes his blood family and those of us who watched him every Sunday. He was a force of nature, will never be easily replaced and will be sorely missed.

I happened to catch Tim Russert talking live by phone to the news jockeys at WTOP, the biggest news radio station here in the DC region, this morning.
He made a really good point about the Obama campaign and the disinformation going around...he said that someone had approached him and told him he didn't like Rev. Wright's comments, but when asked for an example, they guy couldn't come up with anything. Then he said the guy says he also doesn't trust Obama because he's a muslim, at which point Russert gently pointed out that you can't have both...Rev. Wright is a
christian minister. So which is it?
Here's the audio. Definitely worth a listen - and worth spreading - even if Russert hadn't just passed on.
