Lots of stuff today.

Flooding in the Midwest sparked mega INACTION from Bush and McCain whose only advice was to pray about it.

Today Bush says he’ll send water and think about what to do about housing soon. The Federal Disaster Fund has enough money in it to take care of this disaster, but Bush wants to wait for Congress to appropriate money in a SUPPLEMENTAL Emergency Spending Bill. He’ll get around to a briefing today and visiting the area THURSDAY. This happened LAST WEEK and more levees are likely to fail shortly. http://www.wftv.com/weather/16627139/detail.html

On the other hand Barack Obama went to Iowa to help fortify the barriers with sandbags and organize VOLUNTEERS using his awesome Internet Community. People and their stuff are contaminated with farm products, sewage and mosquitos. Nothing is salvageable. Hey, let’s move everyone to a SPORTS ARENA in Houston!

Gore endorsed Obama last night and already the press is attacking him for not being “exciting enough”.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington...gore-react.html

Grandpa flip flops once again on Offshore drilling and ANWR. LOOONG list of McCain flip flops (10 in two weeks and more) below.

McCain also sent a hate filled out of context email condemning Barack Obama’s loyalty to America and Americans? http://www.madison.com/tct/opinion/letters/291024

And HATE radio picks up on all the MUSLIM bashing with its very own damaged son…Michael Reagan who advocated for inserting bombs up babies butts to KILL THEM and THEIR MOTHERS.

What??
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06...shore-drilling/

FACTS ABOUT DRILLING OFFSHORE AND IN ANWR

- More Drilling: Domestic drilling has not led to lower prices. Since 2000, drilling has increased dramatically – climbing about 66 percent– while gas prices continue to increase. and gas companies have shown that they cannot keep pace with the rate of drilling permits that the federal government is handing out – over the past 4 years they have received and are sitting on nearly 10,000 permits that they aren’t using to increase domestic production. Since 1999, drilling permits for oil and gas development on public lands increased more than 361 percent.

- OCS: The vast majority of federal oil and gas resources located on the OCS are already open for development - of all the oil and gas believed to exist on the OCS, nearly 80% of oil and 82% of natural gas is located in areas already open for leasing. In 2006, the federal government opened 8.3 million new acres in the Gulf of Mexico to drilling, yet gasoline prices have increased by $1.69 per gallon. Only 10.5 million of the 44 million leased offshore acres are actually producing oil or gas.

- Open ANWR: EIA estimates that if we open ANWR today, twenty years down the road, at peak production, gas prices would be lowered at the maximum by $1.44 per barrel, which translates to only a few cents a gallon. Increased conservation and the use of alternative technologies in the last three years have cut the projected need for imported oil between now and 2050 by more than 100 billion barrels (EIA) – ten times more benefit than what we might be able to get a decade from now from ANWR.

- More Refineries: We have excess refining capacity. Last week, our refineries were running at 89% capacity – well below the 95-98% capacity use rates we’ve seen this time of year for the last decade. Republicans argue that environmental regulations are preventing new refineries from being built in the U.S. From 1975 to 2000, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) received only one permit request for a new refinery, which was approved. In addition, oil companies are regularly applying for – and receiving – permits to modify and expand their existing refineries.

BushCo is right on top of yet another disaster...it's amazing how quickly he responded to I-35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis (just upriver from the Xcel Energy Center, site of the GOP Convention this year) but no other disaster has been important to this prick and his administration.

Earlier I labeled GWB a first class son of a bitch for his behavior related to the midwest emergency.

Hey Grandpa - you too are good for nothing. I know you can't lift sandbags or anything else for that matter, but to turn your back on good and decent people who need HELP for God sakes man, so you can raise a few bucks because your campaign doesn't know how to utilize the FREAKIN' INTERNET, is SHAMELESS, CLASSLESS, and downright DIGUSTING for a man who thinks he should be president of the United States.

I was in Iowa this weekend. I have a house 5 miles from where the tornado hit the boy scouts. The situation is bad folks. All I can say is thank you to everyone who is donating money and/or time to help us out. Kids I know in college at Iowa City have told me stories of moving critical condition patients out of flooding hospitals. Farmers and regular working folks have lost everything, house and home.

Thank you Barack for coming to Iowa and organizing an amazing effort to raise money and volunteers.

Through all the tragedies we have all endured with W. over these many years, we have always been asked by him and his surrogates to pray and/or rely on his God (in lieu of REAL HELP!).

What I think about that is, God hung up on W. years ago, but W. never seemed to notice he was disconnected, and was actually talking to a dead line.

What's more, W. is still on the line jabbering away to GOD, like a drunken sailor. Clinton voters, voting for Obama!! Yea! Confirms to me that republicans have been promoting the meme that Clinton women are not going to vote for him.

I think Clinton lost a lot of her voters as time passed throughout the primaries, as she continued to play republican politics against her democratic rival. It was like everything in her wake was falling apart behind her as time passed.

Bush claims to be a Christian, his actions prove otherwise. He is an opportunist that panders to human ignorances. Money and deregulation has monopolized the media, energy, and our very rights as citizens. If there is money to be made at the expense of anyone, he is right on it. If there is a photo op, he is there playing howdie doody cowboy, with his best stick up the ass walk across the camera. He is the puppet of corporate America. I bet he gets a big contribution from oil and China for his library of coloring books when he leaves office, just like Reagan and Japan.

Will not argue per capita wealth, last time I looked living below the poverty level, Alaska 10% to about 12.5% average to the rest of the nation.

I am talking poor as in Alaska can't generate enough revenues even to pay for its own Judiciary system. And talk about earmarks or pork, Alaska can't be beat like that Bridge to Nowhere thing. It's pretty much a welfare state dependent on the federal government for support.

Now if you look at Alaska's relationship with oil industry, that state has tax breaks for the industry if tax money is being re-invested into Alaska. Their state policy is pretty much the same policy Obama wants to see in the entire industry if you consider windfall taxes could be avoided through reinvestment. That is very comparable to the Alaska plan. However, if exploration of Alaska's resources of Natural Gas and Oil can't be tapped they remain very high on the federal government's subsidy list.

Reminds me of Iraqis sitting on top of all those proven and unproven reserves committing fratricide on a daily basis. But you must be right the Mississippi is the poorest per capita, I need not check your facts as I am taking your word for it.

I question your facts and because you've exaggerated so grossly on Alaska's poverty levels so I refuse to listen to arguments of other "facts" you state unless you can provide me with evidence that you're correct.

There are some interesting comments after this great article from the Financial Times that Randi references about the Iran sanctions.

THERE ARE NO SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN – GORDON BROWN AND BUSH MADE IT UP!
http://blogs.ft.com/westminster/2008/06/go...iran-sanctions/

One particular:

Not sure what’s “conspiratorial” about the fact that the West has tried to control the world’s energy resources (first oil, now apparently nuclear) This is historical fact. 85% of the fuel for Britain’s military fleets came from Iran prior to Mossadegh’s nationalization of Iran’s oil — which led to his overthrow and the re-installation of the Shah. Today, we have a “Nuclear Suppliers Group” that is undermining the Non-Proliferation Treaty’s explicit requirement for the sharing of nuclear technology “to the fullest extent possible” and “without discrimination”. Meanwhile, we have refused to abide by our own NPT obligations of nuclear disarmament. The hypocricy is blatant and palpable.

I said Alaska is poor. Alaska is always in the top ten recieving government welfare. Alaska lacks industry but not natural resources. If you are into reducing government spending then Alaska could generate more of its own revenues with a progressive stance on tax breaks or credits for re-investment. There is already a distribution system, the Alaskan Pipeline. Obtaining financial independence could be achieved by adding this oil as strategic reserves from American soil. And why are we buying the same quanities from Canada right now and not Alaskans ? It does not make sense. McCain does not want to tap anwar, he would rather ignore the oil trade imbalance, future speculating and Alaska's poorness in general. Now, I told you that I would not argue poorness per capita so you can check facts on the biggest welfare states of the union for yourself or not.

No Alfredo you piss off. Do you know what actually killed anwar the last time around besides the McClan in the Senate ? Everyone was in agreement that the United States would be better off tapping proven reserves directly under control under Americans ok ? Then it was discovered the oil companies wanted to sell this oil directly to Russia across the Strait. So, that killed Steven's 30 year battle to make Alaska finacially independent. And Stevens did not help himself by allowing the industry to make home improvements to his own home, some wine and some other deals probably still under investigation. If you were to do your own homework you would find that Alaska newspapers report about their own dependence on federal funds all the time. Now, why don't I do homework for bullies Mr. Piss off ?

Well McCain does not understand the concept of strategic reserves either I guess. Until our vital interests become less vital we still need earle. In the meanwhile, I guess Mr. Anti-Earmark McCain will have himself to blame for historically high subsidies, entitlements, and pork.

With all the talk of white male racists, I thought I would share an exchange I had with a white male "friend" of mine from Boston. This happened in March during the Rev. Wright dust up:
I sent this out to a few folks:

On Pat Buchanan's Unbareable Whiteness of Being

Pat Buchanan wrote an op-ed that literally made me sick to my stomach.

What is wrong with Barack’s prognosis and Barack’s cure?
Only this. It is the same old con

I guess I attacked one of his heroes so he follows with:

He's just being a "typical white person."

You guys better put Hillary up there because Borat
Hussien Ayatola Quadafi Hezbollah OsamaBama just lost
the election for you.

All Hail The Osama Christ.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72B3tUAqpo4

So she was never proud of the USA? Was she proud of
the USA when she was getting a FREE RIDE at Harvard?
She should be on the ground kissing the ground in
front of that flag because it handed her the most
priviledged life on the face of this Earth. For free.

"As a black man, Borat could be shot just going to the
store?"

Really? She never mentions that something like 94% of
the murders are committed by either black or hispanic
people. I suppose that is my fault also?

I wish I was black I could have gotten a free ride at
Harvard with my grades. Instead I pay student loans to
for an education at a state school because I am white.

Kneel before the Osama Christ.

After he sent me a link to the Wright snippet--- I responded:

>
> If you have not heard Rev. Wright's comments in
> context check them out here to find the truth. And
> if you still think the man is crazy or a racist show
> me!

and sent him the appropriate youtube links

My "friend"" wrote:

Bla bla bla fucking bla.

Its a double standard. You can talk all the shit you
want about white people and excuse it. Its hypocrisy
and unabashed racism.

Borat Hussein Osama is a racist bigot. His wife is a
special ed idiot that got into harvard instead of me
because she is black.

I am so sick of hearing it. Its a double standard.

If McCain said the words "typical black person" he
would be forced out of the Senate.

Black America's chickens are coming home to roost. 30
years of affirmative action and what have we got?

I want a free education at Harvard too.

Well, his attack on Michelle was all I could take and told him:

I have known you for a long time, or so I thought. I guess we were just acquaintances. But thank God for Barack Obama.

You have a lot of knowledge but absolutely NO WISDOM. If there was a perfect place for you to live, it would be Boston, only back 35 years ago. That way you could stand out in the open and throw bricks at busloads of black children.

Your attack on the man's wife is childish. If she was special Ed, where would that put you, because she is obviously brighter and smarter than you.

Poor little white boy not smart enough to get into Harvard, and had to pay for and education to a school that gave me a scholarship.

I have no idea what other ethnic groups you have problems with so I'll keep the discussion to mine. Thank God for Barack Obama for allowing us to see people like you for who you really are. People like you are dinosaurs, relics of a past that should should have dried up, turned to dust, and blew away long ago. Unfortunately for us, we have this insane belief that people like you have "seen the light." Well you have but, it was a blacklight. A light from The LIAR.

What is it that scares People like you so much that you would have this nation continue down this suicidal path, than give a fair look at a Black Man. When presented with the facts that disprove the lies, you come up with things that have no basis in fact. Your mental illness has so deeply saturated you that there is no hope for you. Electroshock therapy would only make you retreat further into your insanity. Are you afraid that if a Black Man is President that you and people like you would have to give up the privileges and benefits you still enjoy from a paranoid and racist white society? That if there were truly a level playing field people like you would wind up working at a gas station? You know me and you know I am not afraid of telling you what I think, I just don't most times because peace is more important that being right. Your inbred thoughts of superiority are a hoax foisted on us and you. You are in no way superior to me or anyone else. the only way people like you keep what you think you have is by divisive lying ways. You are outnumbered in your own nation and you know it. That fact alone scares you to death. The fact that one day all those around you will one day realize what a fraud you really are and you will be reduced to nothing.

And don't think I have taken your comments personally and have anger or hate in my heart for you and people like you. It's more pity. Pity for a pitiful man with a pitifully small intellect living a pitiful, paranoid existence.

Thank God for Barack Obama. Why because he is forcing closet racists like you into the bright light of day. You can't hide anymore and one day you will have to pay for your offences, as will I.

I will pray for you and those like you.

Sometimes it takes every bit of strength I have to keep my mouth shut but, I can't anymore! the alternative is to get Tupac on their assesTupac-Hit Em UP

It is a principle of ADR not to do homework for bullies. I did not ask you to do homework for me. You tried to refute my claim through per capita and I said I ain't playin that way. I know as fact that Alaska is THE Welfare State. And I tried to explain that to you but you were not listening.

Now McCain says it is ok, to develop prime real estate with conservation areas but it's not ok to do that when it comes to Alaska ? He's a federalist when it comes to other states but not his own state. That's because the tycoons of Arizona support his campaign so they get to develop wilderness in a trade off of junk properties elsewhere.

On Anwar, McCain is a flip flopper as usual. And it is to the benefit of the Oil companies to flip on this deal. Especially when Oil Companies were paying off conservation and enviromental lobbyists who want to hug trees and caribou while most Americans suffer from 4 bux per gallon.

Their state revenues cannot match state spending at times. Pushing the limits of state welfare applications the bridge to nowhere was not cost effective considering the limited amount of people that bridge would have served not being part of a federal highway system. It would have created jobs and I would have to check but I think upgraded ferry service will replace the bridge product. Of course Oil revenues would allow Alaskans to build bridges to nowhere if they chose to do so. Bigger picture here are lobbyists tied to McCain and the Oil Industry. Nice rant there and beautifully stated personal attacks too I might add. I realize you were trying to hide them under a guise of trying to make it sound as though I was saying those things to you but I never did. I simply asked you to back up your claims and you did not and still do not which only makes me say even louder that you're full of shit. You've been given plenty of opportunities to back up what you claim but you haven't taken advantage of those opportunities. I argued with you on the state being "poor" which I backed up with evidence, then you stated that it wasn't the people who are poor but the state itself and because I'm not an expert on Alaska's revenue system, I asked you to back this up and explain it to us in detail with some links to prove your GOP based arguments.

Again, I'm not an expert on Alaska's revenue system but do they not give Alaskan residents a share of cash for having certain environmental disruptions? I also bring into question the logic that the state has revenue issues when the per capita is well above the national average, it would appear taxation could solve some of their problems if that is the case, but again, you haven't backed up a single thing you've stated so far in this topic so I have nothing to go on.

I am talking about Bush being out of the country during another national emergency. There is a joke about the President eating ice cream with the Pope when he ought to be home during a disaster just like Katrina or actually being an executive. On Sunday past, Bush had tea with the Queen of England ie. tea and crumpets. If you check around the net, another insider joke is that Bush was in Gordon Brown's pants on Monday, trying to get more leverage on Iran, ie. I got a dummy in my pants. In the meanwhile more levees are breaking in the midwest tonight.

Now cost of living in Alaska is high, high, high so per capita has to be adjusted like figuring out what is fair for determining cutoff for SCHIPS in states like New York or New Jersey. And to be fair, here is what I know:

Alaska is like 47th contributing to the economy through gdp and yet that state is by far the biggest welfare bum of the union. Now I can say the United States is poor by indicating that we are what 9 trillion in debt, losing equity through subprime bubble burst, the devaluation of real estate while fuel prices continue to rise in a time of two wars. So Alaska being federally supported to the nth degree needs to raise its gdp standing.

What is our fault when it comes to the cost of gasolene ?

1.) Basically, just now waking up to realities of inflation to recession that had occured less than 20 years ago. Listen please, we regulate currency, lending rates and a host of other financial measures to pretect us mainly from meltdowns like the great depression. As the price of oil increases our economy will go beyond stagflation. When that happens OPEC won't have to worry about supplying American customers because the demand will stall. That is history I have lived through getting laid off something like 6 times from 1979 to 1984. And I relocated too still to face layoffs. And if you want to move where there is work, how about the cost of living at a new location ? How about trying to get rid of your house for relocation ? And if you are a blue collar worker most of the Oil states are nonunion so expect less wages, benefits and generally a lower standard of living. So, are we just responsible or have we just sat on our laurels with a wait-n-see attitude ? Someone, a good source, suggested a protest whereby everyone refuses to buy gasolene for one or two days.

2.) Corporations that can't handle the downturn will go belly up. They will look to bankruptcy as a way of getting around pension plans. Detroit have made their buyouts already to get rid of those liabilities. Next is outright bankruptcy unless costs of manufacturing and service industries decrease through fuel costs. Some independent truckers may just roll to keep up lease payments or normal payments, some won't. When disposable income decreaes not many people will eat out like the tax rebate was suppose to prop up. All things being equal the rebates have just matched fuel cost increases. And some people using one house rent payments to pay the mortage of the next house will see their entire lil micro pyramid collapse. That means if people don't act now, there is no end to the subprime crisis. And I mean act with fuel market intervention having significant impact right here and now. Want to lower prices, flood the market. Use war excuse to cap profits. And rationing is not out of the question during a time of war. In general, our responsibility is not to allow economic chaos on domestic soil so conservation of fuels are key. See, if the price is high, fuels conserve themselves to the benefit of the Oil Barons, but what have they traded in return, nothing. That is an imbalance between consumer and conserver. That is one of those Dick Cheney so what things.

3.) The other side is consumption. Nevermind, supply and demand for a moment just look at consumption. We are all responsible for consumption. This is part of war fatigue that says yea I am willing to put up with hardship but this much ? On a promise things will be better for us 40 years down the road ? Pretty much in evidence that war fatigue is reaching critical mass.

Now believe it or not, opening up domestic drilling will shock the market. I think the day we announce the troops are coming home will drop the price per barrel around 10 bucks instantly. That is because that Arabs know we are the threat to stability by our mere presence on Arab sands. If, a huge event were to occur like the resolution of Palestine, that would be another market shocker. But look, what they won't tell you is that violence in the middle east increases in the summer season. And that is why there will be no troop reductions until this fall, the October shocker, maybe, maybe not, maybe something completely different, who knows for sure ?
