Is it possible for a person to cure his/her self of internet addiction by reading about it on the internet?

Sure it is! I have a link right here and... oh, wait. Here's another site about it, too. I'll bookmark that for later. Oh, and a couple sites that claim to debunk what the first two sites say about it, so to be fair I should check those out. Oooh, and a support group forum!

I the person believes they are curing themselves, then according to their perspective, they are curing themselves.

Addiction, what addiction?
Admitting you have a problem is the first step.
However, let's talk about your pet addiction first.

YOu could flood your house, and then start cleaning it up and doing construction on your window to rid it from rotten wood, and almost shoot your eye out with a .22 nail hammer, and still need to mow the lawn and tend the garden, and care for the dogs, and your moms house...and that will slow down your time on the internet.

If it makes you change your behavior, yes.
