The House Judiciary Committee held hearings on TORTURE. Things like torturing CHILDREN and BURYING PEOPLE ALIVE for CHENEY’S AMUSEMENT. “Cheney’s Cheney” Dick Addington and John “Torture Memo” Yoo testified that they don’t care, don’t feel responsible and pretty much would do anything to anyone so go to hell.

David Addington, a longtime aide to Dick Cheney, and John Yoo, who helped write the infamous "torture memos," testified before the House Judiciary Committee today on the Bush administration's detention and interrogation policies. Both men offered evasive answers to seemingly simple questions. Yoo, at one point, was asked several times by Cmte. Chairman John Conyers whether or not the President had the authority to bury a detainee alive. Yoo was unable to offer an answer.

Don't get me started on Addington and Yoo before the Judiciary Commitee yesterday.
My last remaining nerve ending (count it) is on life support, but at least I don't need an appetite suppressant.

Sometimes I think these arrogant bastards just lie because they LIKE TO! Addington was quizzed by a Congressman about the "Unitary Executive" theory. He said that he'd HEARD of it, but did not know much about it. HE PRACTICALLY INVENTED IT!

I thought Addington and Yoo were very entertaining yesterday. The take is they showed the ultimate in weasleology, a layman term for the m/o of Defense Lawyers . That gives them too much credit though. I would say they are the ultimate Bureaucrats under the Bush/Cheney Regime. Why do I say that, oh, let's not give them any pro bono work, suffice to say, bureaucrats will do what bureaucrats do. Anyway being a Luma-not-e or a luma-naughty myself, I guess I derive some sort of sick pleasure watching a nightcrawler squirm on a hook.

I guess, that in the Senate, The Slumlord enablers versus the populus supporters are taking a break until after the 4th of July Holiday (can you say Independence) to find out who wins the battle of Retention of Equity during this recession already in progress. The other deal on hold is FISA but I won't snoop on them in this critical time period of Lameduckness.

Not to brag, but I will anyway, at Thanksgiving past, I advised my favorite social conservative investor to prepare for a Bear Market. He usually views me with contempt asking questions like"Why do you have to be different ?". I say, "Hey Popeye, I am who I am, if you don't want to listen, that's on you". It's hardwork being ourselves but someone has to do it less we become zombies too. Pay no attention to those truth twisters on the boards lest the become flys in our soup. Shoo flys shooo.

On two consecutive days, hearings conducted by the Senate Judiciary Committee were suspended when Republicans invoked the rarely used "two hour rule" that states no hearing can run more than two hours.

ANP cameras were covering both hearings as part of ongoing stories and were able to capture the latest moves in the political chess match both parties are currently waging on Capitol Hill.

I watched that senate judiciary meeting on torture. That was the most blatant squirm session I have ever seen. The senators nailed it! They told them that they never talked to congress about this, so it is on them soooooo big time. They asked him outright a question that would make a terrorist proud, and they couldn't say no. So much for being American. I just hate it when the Constitution and the Geneva Convention get in the way. I feel sooo sorry for an assistant attorney that doesn't know what is wrong or right. Knowledge must make you immoral. The dude can't even follow simple rules, or answer simple questions. In the future, all he and his comrades will have to do is follow the blue line, shower together, eat together, play out in the yard together, the simple life. They will be fine.

Here is an update on our Quack, Quack, Quack, lameduck Congress taking unearned vacations. Sounds just like the Whitehouse to me. This article points out The Economy, Housing Crisis, Gasolene prices and Medicare have been put on the back burner for another recess, so much for doing the People's Business.

I am dissapointed with the 109th Congress being that a pledge was made from the onset that parties would work together for the good of our nation which does have a synergistic effect when it comes to the world such as war, oil costs creating more poverty and instability as well as global warming.

So the sub committees cannot stay in session while congress is in session. I guess they should have taken advantage of the summer break and marched forward on the investigations then. This is such a bunch of crap. They at least know who is responsible for the torture. The energy moguls got a break due to the repugs. Senate has not shown up for the FISA, that is a good sign. Perhaps they will let that sit till the next President with a conscience gets in. This one is too busy looking for another war and standing on rubble to have one.
