I'll tell you, Rhodies....I don't like this...I don't like this at all.....
IT APPEARS THAT MCCANT IS CATCHING UP, BUT I CAN'T FOR THE LIFE OF ME, FIGURE OUT WHY!! ohmy.gif wtf.gif banghead.gif

Polls really mean nothing at this stage, IMO. What Dems should be more concerned with is the right-wing propaganda about Obama that they're spreading.

Where did she get this one from, Pat Bucannon ? In certain swing states, it don't match the polls. In fact I read on the Washington Post website that in 4 swing states alone, Obama is ahead with a huge lead now when it comes to independent voters. After this Recession sets in, it will be a landslide. Election night will be like a Superbowl blow out but the announces will say oh, they are only down 28 points at halftime, this team can make a comeback so stay tuned for an exciting 2nd half.

I can't predict the future but history as judge, during economic turmoil, the party in power will lose big time. And really, Republicans have perfected the art of shooting themselves in the foot. Maybe even Reagan Democrats will now see the light as Bush41 dubbed Supply-side Economics as Voodoo Economics. Fools are fools not being able to learn through history.

Not that I would ever vote for McCain, but the speeches I've heard from the old man actually have his plan for america. (whether it's a good plan or bad, he's got something) It's probably the media taking snips.

What are some real meat and potatoe issues and plans from Obama? I will vote for him anyway, and I know I can access his website and see the issues for myself. I want to hear it from his mouth, like the old man.

Whats a poll?

Seriously, I know what a poll is but I also know that tons of people don't or won't respond to them. Like me for example.

Did you happen to catch him this weekend on C-Span at NALEO (National Associaton of Latino Elected Officials)? He talked about many specifics. From what I hear, he has been talking tons of specifics. Don't blame him that the media whores for McCain don't seem to have time to cover Obama's specifics. MSNBC had time to cover a bear cub running through New Jersey and Amy Winehouse punching someone slap2.gif At least now you know why he opted out of public financing. He needs all the money he can get to get his message out. The corporate media won't do it for him!

The only polls that mean anything (or used to) are exit polls. Plus it's way too early - we haven't even had the conventions yet!

Everyone keep talking about where is Obama's meat and potatoes; what is substantive about McCain saying that we need clean energy and we need to assist the people losing their home.

Obama said he gave specifics on college intuition, $4,000 and asking college students to give a little by serving the community, he said famililes would get an additional $1,000 dollars tax credit, he said that his health plan would make health insurance for everyone and specifics amounts. He said that he would withdraw troops as carefully as the Bush administration was careless getting them in.

This tells me that most you are still listing to the "bites" that right wing news media perpetuate every day.

I find that there has been complete bullshit double standard throughout this campaign season. Obama has more documented detailed policies and plans than anybody in this race. I was on his website going through policy and questions/answer sections. I have never seen so much detailed information on some many different subjects.

From a guy that has no specifics and cannot use the internet to look at Obama's policy plans.

I have.
On Hillary "She's a real Wonk" Clinton's website.

Nobody hashed out the details like Hillary. But that didn't count because she's a "f$*&% whore" (Thanks Randi for clearing that up).

Don't be impressed with Obama's psuedo-wonkishness. It's all for the camera and the netrooters.

Its good to counter it. But the focus must be what Liberal America is. We need to reignite the fire that was burning brightly in the early primaries.

I think some impromptu pro-Obama rallies would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a good strategy for the Obama camp / democrats in general: Have a unity rally wehre those cars were vandalized under the theme: We aren't fooled by opperation chaos. Then raise money to fix the cars at the rally. Use all the press to expose "opperation chaos' to the public who will be outraged at what the republicans are planning.

A: Shows democrats fixing things.
B: Dispells this 'rift' nonsense.
C: Exposes right wing slime.

Hmmm...
Maybe we can organize this here?

You are talking to the wrong guy, I havent believed any hype about any politician since Robert Kennedy, though Bill Clinton nearly tricked me into thinking he was pure and virtuous...

there is a difference between being duped by these guys and being so obstinate and stubborn that since your candidate didnt win you are willing to act in such a way to cause greater harm to the nation...

Thanks for the reminder.

Let me give you a bit of a reminder too.

QUOTE
Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

In other words, I have the right to redress my grievances against this country and its citizens.

I did not insult Ms. Rhodes, merely repeated something she said quite clearly. And as so many defended her right to "free speech", as do I, I defend my right to repeat her words.

I exercise my right to stay and express my opinion, regardless of the majority opinion. My opinion doesn't have to be welcomed, only recognized.

And that's why this is a great country.

Well, Robert Kennedy was not "pure and vituous" either. Kennedy himself was a centrist who voiced many opinions that Bill Clinton shared also (especially in regards to welfare and the role of men in the family).

No one is acting in a way to cause greater harm to the nation" (your words, not mine). Instead, I chose not to blindly follow any candidate and can recognize political game when I see it.

Actually the 1st Amendment applies toward the government. This is a private message board so actually your posts can be deleted if the mods deem it necessary. I'm not trying to threaten you in any way. Just pointing out the difference.

Thank you for addressing this pesky ignorance that SO often keeps being spouted by the just plain, self-righteous uninformed on message boards.
