I'm teatering
on whether it is
liar or thief.

a thief can take:
your property
your dignity
your innocence
your life
your respect
your trust
your loved ones

If we just stopped theives, we wouldn't need 10 commandments.

I think it would be, if you knew something bad was happening or see something bad happening and you did nothing about it even though you could have stopped it from happening.

I suppose only religous believers would consider an immorality a sin but I will play along.......

The worst non-physical immorality is hypocrisy which covers a lot..........

"Blasphemy"

Christ declared: “Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven” (Mt. 12:31)

That makes it UNforgivable, which is in contradiction of Biblical repentance.

Later...
""Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matt. 3:2), and "Repent and believe in the gospel" (Mk. 1:15).

How is theft related to "Blasphemy against the spirit"??

How is theft related to "Blasphemy against the spirit"??

One steals the respect for which the spirit stands.

Blasphemy is defined as 1. Profane or contemptuous speech, writing, or action concerning God or anything held as divine. 2. any remark or action held to be irreverent or DISRESPECTFUL.

Once upon a time there was a jester. He was the funniest in the kingdom and all the peoples laughed at him because he always told jokes about the King. The King had never heard any of the jokes the jester told, unless the jokes were 'revized' as to not offend the King. For once the King was offended, he would have the offender beheaded.

One day the King, hearing that this jester was 'very funny' requested that the jester come and perform at the Castle. The jester was terrified because he knew that if he offended the King, the King would behead him. But the jester was true to himself and refused to revise his jokes to 'please' the King.

On the night of the jesters performance, the jester told the King, I tell the truth. At this the King was please, because the King did not like to be lied to, and would kill anyone who was found lying to him. So, the jester proceeded to tell his jokes to the King. The King was saw by all to be uncomfortable in his seat as the jester told jokes about the King and his incompetence. The King only smiled at a few jokes and laughed at none.

At the end of the performance the frightened jester went up to the King, expecting a death sentance and asked "how did you like the show?" THe King said to the jester, "The people seem to enjoy it, but now they see me as a joke." Then the King seeing the fear of the jester, thanked the jester, for the jester had taken the Kings sight and given him a new way to look at himself.

With this the King became a better man.

A few words from the Little Rabbi:

QUOTE (Luke_10)
But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
Jesus replied and said,
A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, `Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.'
Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"

And he said, "The one who showed mercy toward him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do the same."

And again,

QUOTE (Matthew_25)
All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.

Then the King will say to those on His right, `Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him, `Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' The King will answer and say to them, `Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

Then He will also say to those on His left, `Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.' Then they themselves also will answer, `Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You? Then He will answer them, `Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me. These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

I think that the standard's pretty clear - and awful high.

Atheism...the theft in it would be...hmmmmmm

I see no sin in Atheism, but thats just me take.
I was gonna say taking God's power to exist, but God would exist even if one chooses to not believe in God.
