It's an essential nutrient for expectant mothers, growing children and anyone who wishes to be healthy. It's absolutely crucial for healthy blood cell function, and it's used in over 100 enzymatic reactions involving protein metabolism.
So why would a pharmaceutical company petition the FDA to outlaw the sale of this essential nutrient? It's simple: Because Big Pharma wants to market its own form of Vitamin B6 and call it a "drug."

Why not?
For all intensive purposes they've eliminated vitamin b17 (the FDA has barred it's manufacture as a supplement and the amount of it occuring naturally in mass-produced food is greatly reduced), despite it's positive effects on eliminating cancers (as it has in the Hunza tribe of the Himalayas, who consume 200 times more nitriloside - b17 rich food), and you basically never hear about the positive effects of mexican yams for women going through menopause, or the positive effects of apple cider vinegar on eliminating acid reflux, and there's basically no press about the Tibetan herb mixture Padma 28 that they are now making in Switzerland that is a cure for severe heart disease and clogged arteries, and then of course, there's the mother of all dis-information campaigns with regards to hemp and it's wide-ranging uses.
Natural solutions which come from eons of evolution somehow never get their props, but the chemical crap these corporate asshats have come up with in the last couple decades that give you more negative side-effects than the original problem -- we're supposed to regard them as the shiznet?

From the official Codex website (www.codexalimentarius.net) the altruistic purpose of this commission is in "protecting health of the consumers and ensuring fair trade practices in the food trade, and promoting coordination of all food standards work undertaken by international governmental and non-governmental organizations". Codex is a joint venture regulated by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO).
Brief History of Codex
The history of Codex began in 1893 when the Austria-Hungarian empire decided it needed a specific set of guidelines by which the courts could rule on cases dealing with food [1]. This regulatory set of mandates became known as Codex Alimentarius and was effectively implemented until the fall of the empire in 1918. The United Nations (UN) met in 1962 and decided that Codex should be re-implemented worldwide in order to protect health of the consumers. Two-thirds of funding for Codex emanates from the FAO while the other third comes from the WHO.
In 2002, the FAO and WHO had serious concerns about the direction of Codex and hired an external consultant to determine its performance since 1962 and to designate which direction to take the trade organization [2]. The consultant concluded that Codex should be immediately scrapped and eliminated. It was at this time that big industry realized the full monetary potential of this organization and exerted its powerful influence. The updated outcome was a toned down report asking Codex to address 20 various concerns within the organization.
Since 2002, the Codex Alimentarius Commission has covertly surrendered its role as an international public health and consumer protection organization. Under the helm of big industry, the sole surreptitious purpose of the new codex is to increase profits for the global corporate juggernauts while controlling the world through food. The implicit understanding of their philosophy is that if you control food, you control the world.

The most dominant country behind the agenda of Codex is the United States whose sole purpose is to benefit multinational interests like Big Pharma, Big Agribusiness, Big Chema and the like. At the latest meeting in Geneva, the U.S. recently became the chair of Codex which will facilitate an exacerbation of the distortion of health freedom and will continue the promulgation of misinformation and lies about genetically modified organism (GMOs) and nutrients while fulfilling the tacit population control agenda. The reason the U.S. continues to dominate Codex is because other countries falsely believe the U.S. possesses the latest and greatest safety technology when it comes to food and hence, whatever the U.S. asks for, its allies (E.U., Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore) follow suit nearly every time.
Many of the countries who wish to participate and want to voice their opinions are not allowed to attend the Codex meetings as the U.S. denies most visas for these representatives whenever they feel like it. Many of these countries (South Africa, Swaziland, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Sudan, Nigeria) realize that Codex has been altered from a benevolent food organization to one that is fraudulent, lethal and illegitimate. The fact that Codex meetings are held all over the world is also no accident and allows the U.S. to maintain its tight grip on the Codex agenda as the less economically viable countries are not able to attend.
The Real Threat
While the esoteric agenda of the media is busy driving fear into the hearts of the world by focusing on terrorism, global warming, salmonella, and food shortages, the real threats are clandestinely becoming a reality. Soon every single thing you put into your mouth (with the exception of pharmaceuticals, of course) will be highly regulated by Codex Alimentarius, including water. The standards of Codex are a complete affront to the freedom of clean and healthy food, yet these regulations have no legal international standing. Why should we be worried? These soon-to-be mandatory standards will apply to every country who are members of the WTO (World Trade Organization). If countries do not follow these standards, then enormous trade sanctions will result. Some Codex standards that will take effect on December 31, 2009 and once initiated are completely irrevocable include [2]:
* All nutrients (vitamins and minerals) are to be considered toxins/poisons and are to be removed from all food because Codex prohibits the use of nutrients to "prevent, treat or cure any condition or disease"
* All food (including organic) is to be irradiated, removing all toxic nutrients from food (unless eaten locally and raw).
* Nutrients allowed will be limited to a Positive List developed by Codex which will include such beneficial nutrients like Fluoride (3.8 mg daily) developed from environmental waste. All other nutrients will be prohibited nationally and internationally to all Codex-compliant countries [2].
* All nutrients (e.g., CoQ10, Vitamins A, B, C, D, Zinc and Magnesium) that have any positive health impact on the body will be deemed illegal under Codex and are to be reduced to amounts negligible to humans' health [3].
* You will not even be able to obtain these anywhere in the world even with a prescription.

Several countries have recently objected to this practice and stated that because of this and other reasons, decisions made by codex in their absence do not have international legitimacy. One major point of contention has been the U.S. and Codex's staunch refusal to allow labeling of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Norway, Switzerland, Russia, Japan and virtually all African countries and the 26 countries of the EU (European Union) have fought the U.S. for nearly 18 years to allow mandatory labeling of GMOs. The U.S. fallaciously considers GMOs equal to non-GMOs solely based on a 1992 Executive Order from then-president George H. W. Bush, therefore no pre-market safety testing occurs on any GMOs before they are released into the food chain in the U.S. The FDA refuses to review any safety data except for a single, preliminary review early in the organism's development.
Opponents of the U.S. policy prohibiting labeling of genetically modified food conclude that the U.S. does not want GMOs labeled because of the potential legal ramifications and liability to the manufacturers and to the U.S. government if these foods could be traced. If millions of people are harmed or killed due to the instability of the inserted DNA promoter viruses and marker bacteria into GMOs when interacting with the dynamic and fluid structure of the human body, then millions of lawsuits may result. But, if they are totally untraceable, then zero corporate or government liability can be assessed. FDA scientists have repeatedly warned about releasing GMOs into the general food supply because of their dangers, but have been routinely ignored or overruled.
Prior to the Geneva meeting, the Codex Committee on Food Labeling met in Canada. The meeting concluded with several pro-mandatory GMO labeling nations angry that Codex had not objectively analyzed the empirical research detailing the dangers of GMOs that South Africa prepared. This document delineated the necessity of mandatory labeling of GMOs, but was ignored and subsequently withdrawn on U.S. pressure of an independent nation (South Africa). As a result, several countries planned to scrap the requirements of Codex and adopt their own labeling system for GMOs in an effort to curtail the spread of "lethal" food. This had led to a real quandary for the WHO (World Health Organization) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization).

John: I am the president of International Advocates for Health Freedom, located in Point Roberts, Washington. My website is www.NoCodexGenocide.com. I had a previous website, which is now archived, at www.IAHF.com. I have been a consultant to the dietary supplement industry on legislative issues since 1989, and I was the first to call the Codex threat to international health freedom to public attention in 1996 in an article in Life Extension Magazine.
When I wrote that article, I was an employee of the Life Extension Foundation spearheading the effort to keep Saul Kent and Bill Faloon out of federal prison in the aftermath of an armed FDA raid in the late '80s. They fought in the courts for many years. I also spearheaded an effort to build a rather unique museum called the FDA Holocaust Museum.
Our exhibits documented the numerous ways in which the FDA kills Americans. They fraudulently approve dangerous drugs that should never be approved, and they are too slow in approving other drugs. They do not properly monitor the blood supply, so we have a tainted blood supply. They step on safe dietary supplements that should not be stepped on. They suppress the truth about life-giving drugs and nutrients, blocking manufacturers from making truthful claims, and they are riddled with corruption with a revolving door of the drug companies that they theoretically oversee.
The diverse exhibits brought out all of these things. When we had this museum, we actually changed the name of the Life Extension Foundation to the FDA Holocaust Museum. We had a gigantic neon sign on the front of our building proclaiming it the FDA Holocaust Museum. We did this because we knew that airplanes landing at Fort Lauderdale International Airport could see this sign from the air. It really provoked the enemy, and we started a radio show called "Life Extension Breakthroughs." We alerted the prosecutor to make sure that she tuned in.

Mike: Hi, I'm Mike Adams and I am here today with John Hammell of NoCodexGenocide.com to talk about Codex, the supplement industry and why people need to get involved in the fight for health freedom. Give us a little background, please, John.
John: I am the president of International Advocates for Health Freedom, located in Point Roberts, Washington. My website is www.NoCodexGenocide.com. I had a previous website, which is now archived, at www.IAHF.com. I have been a consultant to the dietary supplement industry on legislative issues since 1989, and I was the first to call the Codex threat to international health freedom to public attention in 1996 in an article in Life Extension Magazine.
When I wrote that article, I was an employee of the Life Extension Foundation spearheading the effort to keep Saul Kent and Bill Faloon out of federal prison in the aftermath of an armed FDA raid in the late '80s. They fought in the courts for many years. I also spearheaded an effort to build a rather unique museum called the FDA Holocaust Museum.
Our exhibits documented the numerous ways in which the FDA kills Americans. They fraudulently approve dangerous drugs that should never be approved, and they are too slow in approving other drugs. They do not properly monitor the blood supply, so we have a tainted blood supply. They step on safe dietary supplements that should not be stepped on. They suppress the truth about life-giving drugs and nutrients, blocking manufacturers from making truthful claims, and they are riddled with corruption with a revolving door of the drug companies that they theoretically oversee.
The diverse exhibits brought out all of these things. When we had this museum, we actually changed the name of the Life Extension Foundation to the FDA Holocaust Museum. We had a gigantic neon sign on the front of our building proclaiming it the FDA Holocaust Museum. We did this because we knew that airplanes landing at Fort Lauderdale International Airport could see this sign from the air. It really provoked the enemy, and we started a radio show called "Life Extension Breakthroughs." We alerted the prosecutor to make sure that she tuned in.

We are so embroiled in 9-11, the Bush Conspiracy to deplete Constitutional law, that we "miss" what the FAO and WTO have been doing these past couple of decades.
Your Food supply is purposely being altered, by "big Pharma and Agro business" in order to maintain their "profit mode" despite the ramifications to the "genome", and the human race. Sound alarmist? You bet! I, as a past research scientist
have watched the Checks & Balances on the Pharmaceuticals { testing of a new product 5-7 yrs prior to being ALLOWED to go on the shelves. WHY? Because they are losing profits, while testing their product. It does not make any return on investment, until reaching the shelf!
Why Wait? We can use the public to test out the results=guinea pigs, monkeys, rabbits, canine,etc. are a waste of money! We will know in time, if our product is without "flaws". So lets make our Stock Holders happy and get this to market AS SOON AS POSSIBLE[=LAWFULLY ACCEPTABLE] . So the laws began to change after the "dusting" of Silent Spring by Rachael Carson settled. The public's awareness is VERY SHORT!. And with the wonderful ADS on the BOOB TUBE with these "new products" such as VIAGRA, Retilin, and what ever...we can BOOST our capital as well as reduce the overlay[test patients and time] by our getting the public INTERESTED! "Talk to your Dr."; "should any of the following occur....be sure to discuss it with your doctor, While ceasing to continue....."
Note how the Big Pharma has put the "accountability" on YOU, and your DOCTOR! They specifically say, "check with your doctor.....before taking".
Great protection by the Corporate controled FDA which has been PRIVATIZING the CHECKS & BALANCES process of the Federal Government. The FDA has been looking the other way for years! But not for better control and prevention of MISUSE by the producers of "ingestible products".
Time is crucial in the "disaster capitalist's world". Opportunities are everything, and time [checks & Balances] only hamper this NEO-CON modus operendi !
Profits are to be MADE in spite of lawsuits that can OCCUR. If the law can be changed for the CORPORATIONS [RONALD REAGAN started it] - so be it! Lawsuits are figured into the cost of "doing Business" as usual.
