WOL Radio talk show host Joe Madison, whose morning program has been carried by XM Satellite Radio since 2001, will leave the Washington station, the flagship station of the Radio One radio network, to join the XM Satellite payroll.

It is unclear if Madison will severe his ties with Radio One Inc. Michelle Williams, general manager of Radio One D.C. could not be reached for comment.

XM Satellite spokesman Chance Patterson said no decision has yet been made.

Interesting, but how is that gonna affect the landscape? I know he's wanted to make bigger moves, but he might be losing a loyal base with this move. There's still not enough subscribers to justify leaving his local market. I wonder if Radio One will carry him in one of their slots?
