At age five, I sat in an ant pile. This was Metairie, LA. Fortunately, it was a pile of black ants. I got revenge later by using those good ol' Black Cat firecrakers.

Fire ants in Texas are the worst, and you can die from their bites, if you're bitten enough.

When I was a baby/toddler living in South Carolina, I was attacked by Fire ants or rather, I was sitting on top of their ant pile. My father was watering plants while I sat in the yard in my diaper on a hot summer day. I was covered head to toe in ants and crying when he noticed and began to spray me down with the hose he was using. Funny thing is...I never knew that this was a real event until I was around the age of 14 when I brought this 'dream' up to my dad that I had had in the past. He then told me..."Oh no, that was real alright!!" He then told me what actually happened. OUCH!

There was this other time that my leg was attacked by about 100 or so black ants and I tell you...they have a sick sense of humor! It was as if they all positioned themselves very quietly, then shouted out to one another "OK...bite...NOW!" and they all bit at the same time. Fortunately I was near my pool at the time and was able to put my leg in the water, but damn! Those little guys scarred up my leg really bad (of course, it doesn't help when you can't stop itching and when you are a 'picker' like I am with scabs from cuts).
