Full Version: Randi on XM's Air America channel?

I just got XM, pre-tuned my radio to Air America (the only progressive talk station on there, from what I could see) and was surprised today to hear Randi's show. I couldn't tell if it was a repeat or not, but it was definitely her. There was no Nova M ID for the short time I listened.

Does XM just run a mixture of progressive talk and label it Air America? Or is AA running a repeat of Randi?

If the show is about Kerry's run for the Presidency, it is probably a repeat. You will have to tell us what the subject she is talking about today. Today she is sun burnt talking to Wexler about impeachment, and the possibility of this clown attacking Iran. And as usual, the news is on hold so don't bother with cable.

I didn't hear that much of it. I was just surprised AA was still using Randi at all. Either that or I figured it was something XM was doing. Oh well. Good to hear her no matter how it happens. smile.gif

Randi is back on XM, the show was live. The XM "Air America" channel also carries Ed Schultz at noon, who is also not affiliated with A. A..

XM announced last week that as of July 14, A. A. (channel 167) will become "America Left", and they are supposed to add Mike Malloy, Stephanie Miller, and keeping their base lineup they have now...no idea how the schedule will line up, but can't wait.

I really loved that they brought Randi back on XM. Really missed her when she was off.

Thank you. The America Left channel sounds great. They could use a couple more. I think that's the only progressive channel, but, from what I saw, there are a couple of right wingnut channels, including Fox.

When all the Air America crap went down and I was listening to Sam Cedar fill in, I got online to find out what was going on. I was told online that she would be back on that Monday. I was shocked to hear her back on the very same time slot, on the very same AM 1150 in Los Angeles that Monday. The only difference, it wasn't Air America I was now listening to.

Beginning July 14, XM 167 becomes America Left, powered by Air America Radio. You'll hear some of the familiar voices including Bill Press, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Thom Hartmann and Mike Malloy. Plus, XM welcomes Stephanie Miller and the return of the Young Turks to the home of America Left, XM 167. Beginning July 14 catch the new America Left, powered by Air America Radio - XM 167.

Malloy is & has been there, they are adding S. Miller & Young Turks. I didnt see line ups listed. They had an America Left channel previously. It is the ONLY way we hear any left talk in this part of the country!

The question is who is going to get the best time slot? Now, Maddow hits the air right after Randi, alternating with Race for the White House. I notice she is absent from the names listed.

She has her own deal with XM

thank god she's on there

Hopefully they will keep both Left stations after the merger.

I have tried listening to Lionel, many times. He makes my hair hurt. I hope they can come up with someone in his time slot that makes some sense.

I giggled when Randi came back to XM.....Fortunately, though, I listen to her on her local station, WJNO. I like JNO because I hear local commercials and traffic. I do like the option of going to XM when I travel to GA during the summer. I volunteer at a camp for kids who are deaf...and it is a guilty pleasure to go out and listen to radio........and enjoy an air conditioned car!

Thanks for the update Texan.

I don't know how I missed that. I'm plugged into XM pretty much all day at work. I do podcast some in the morning, but I put my wireless head phones and enjoy channel 167 after Lionel is over with.

I do hope that XM/Sirius keeps both "Left" channels after the merger. I'd LOVE the added variety. I'd like to see Rachael still on XM/Sirius. But, isn't it the "Young TURK"? Not the "Young Turks"? I thought it was a solo host show at the end of it's run with AAR.

Steph's coming to XM!!??!!

That's awesome news!

(though XM and Sirius are about to be the same company... boooooo)

You beat me to it. Lionel is on during my morning commute, so I have to listen to something else. I hate him...so much...the flames...the flames...on the side of my face...heaving...breath...breathing....
