I'm having trouble finding it as well! Randi post a link!
ChiffonBreath
Randi said the product introduces more oxygen to the area, oxygen in a can...

I wonder if a person had a tank of oxygen, could they just use that instead; huffing pure oxygen is an ideal hangover remedy wink.gif

How timely.

Take a look at FDA Commissioner von Eschenbach's consumer's letter for this week:

The website at the link for o2rifik.com is suspect for a number of reasons:

· no active ingredients listed anywhere

· very obvious misspellings, suggesting the website was thrown together quickly without quality control
and also raising the question as to whether the product is being produced within the US (or being imported illegally from a country where the primary language is not English)

· images suggest it is useful for treating and preventing various skin conditions, yet there is a legal disclaimer at the end that the product is not intended for treatment. This is a common ploy to try to avoid a product being subject to FDA regulation of medical products. Legitimate cosmetics companies and medical companies do not advertise their products this way.

· notice the "all sales are final" and similar statements on the website -- usually a telltale sign of a ripoff operation

Well this is not a phoney cure. I don't make any kickback money. I just think it's a good product that does what it claims to do. Try it.

The sun just doesn't seem to be the same as it was when I was younger. Even people with dark complexions burn now. I always wear sunblock.

This is the best stuff for burns.

You can get it at your local Chinese Apothecary or you can order it on-line It smells a little earthy but it works every time.

The alarm bells in my head are ringing.

that FDA site has typos of it's own. I am better informed about the current FDA and I am aware that who they are looking out for is corporations. That's why the current policy is that if the FDA has approved a product, you have no rights to a consumer claim. This policy exists even though the board ignores it's own medical advisors.
Randi said it works and I have more reason to trust her than I do the FDA. They have both proven themselves to be what they are.

It has worked for Randi this one time in this one situation (so far).
Has it been tested to see whether it causes allergic reactions in a large percentage of users?
How reliable is the manufacturing process? What kind of quality control is there in the storage and delivery of the product from manufacturer to distributor?
Was the sample that Randi got doctored to ensure she would get good results?
Does the product contain topical anesthetics like lidocaine, which have proven fatal (ABCNews CNN) when misused?

The FDA clearly has many significant issues.
But we are still better off with the FDA in its current state than we would be if there were no FDA.

Not exactly bogus.. oxygen rich air will heal skin wounds faster and better.

Except that how does an over-the-counter product deliver oxygen to skin wounds so effectively?
It sounds like pseudoscience to part fools and their money.

I suspect this product contains topical anesthetics, such as benzocaine, dibucaine, or lidocaine, and resorcinol, which are already available in drugstores without a prescription.

Well, Eschenbach is a tool of the Bush Administration, so I don't trust him either.

The FDA requires all OTC drugs need to have a "drug panel" clearly listed on the packaging when sold in the US. That would call out the active ingredients. I agree it's odd that the ingredients aren't listed on the website.... Was anyone able to find them?
krinla
Wow the site calls itself "02REFIK.COM" in the title bar, and the site map links don't work. LOL.

Who would buy this stuff or put it on their skin without seeing ingredients? Randi is braver than I....

IT IS A SKIN MOISTURIZER. WE HAVE NOT AND DO NOT MAKE ANY MEDICINAL CLAIMS BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE FDA AND FTC SCRUTINY. IF A USER HAS A WONDERFUL RESULT WITH A PRODUCT THAT ACTUALLY WORKS IN ANYWAY, SHAPE, FASHION OR FORM TODAY, WE ALL SHOULD TAKE PLEASURE IN THAT. WHAT WAS DONE FOR RANDI WAS DONE ON A WHIM TO SHOW SOMEONE THAT COULD GET THE MESSAGE OUT, WHAT MIGHT BE POSSIBLE WITH 02RIFIK. I SENT A SINCERE LETTER, BOTH TYPEWRITTEN AND HANDWRITTEN TO CONVEY WHO I AM AND SHOW THAT I GENUINELY HAD SOMETHING THAT I KNOW WOULD WORK ON HER SUNBURN. IT WAS A CHALLENGE THAT SHE ACCEPTED AND IT WORKED. BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS IS THAT 02RIFIK HELPS ANY USER TO THEIR SATISFACTION. THAT IS ALL ANYONE CAN HOPE FOR. GOD BLESS YOU, RANDI! WE HAVE TRIED FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS TO GET THIS MESSAGE OUT. YOU DID IT IN LESS THAT 10 MINUTES! THANK YOU! TO ALL, WWW.02RIFIK.COM (NUMERIC 0). THANK YOU ALL.

Looks like he posted the ingredients (kind of) on his website: some kind of crystalline powder which is not named, and deionized water. I'm skerred of un-named powders ... blink.gif

Not really...the product seems to be promoting 02 as part of it's thingy...o2 is not that good for skin. Great for your lungs...not for your skin.

Agreed...but if your skin is already damaged/burnt O2 can reduce the pain of ones burnt skin. Compressed O2 is quite cold. Remember? that was the goal..to reduce her pain so she could function while her skin healed

Follow up would. of course IMHO include copious amounts of skin moisturizing agents.

We'll have to wait and see what she has to say about the product after she gets back from vacation.

Uh...and VERY dangerous. Might as well use a co2 cartridge- or better, an ice cube.
