Personally I'd breath a sigh of relief.

Moving to Canada. I'm already planning to move to Oregon. Canada's not that much farther away. Or I'll make Aliyah to Israel. In either case, I'm getting the funk outta here.

But I really don't think that'll be an issue. I know, KOD.

I know I know.... This year has to be different because people are so dissatisfied this time around.

This is the reason I don't understand why people get so upset when Obama panders just a little. In the national polls, he is only ahead by 5% and that is not enough to ensure that the repigs don't steal it. He is going to need an overwhelming amount of votes. I don't care what Obama "says" to get some of those right wingers and independents to get them to vote for him. All I care about is what he "does" after he is elected.

How will he win the second term if is proven to be a panderer to the right? When we pull out of Iraq and it falls apart??? Easy answer would be to get Bin Laden. The only way that Obama can get out of Iraq and stay in office is to get Bin Laden.

National polls don't matter. We don't have a national Presidential election. State polls are the only polls we should be worrying about.

I keep track of state polls at:
http://www.electoral-vote.com

That site compiles all of the state polls and calculates the current projected electoral vote. Obama is currently up 317-221, and has been for some time. There's also a lot of wiggle room in Obama's direction - and not so much hope for McCain.

Well I have to be honest, as a single mom born on the Westside of Chicago and raised on the Southside. In the same neighborhood the Obama's call home.

I say this, If Obama does not win the 2008 election, I will leave the United States.

Why?

Well I have just returned from living in China for about a year, and what the United States represented in the 1990's, is everything and more of what China represents now. I'm not saying that I would live in China for ever, or even make it my permanent home. Maybe I will go back to Ghana to live, or maybe go to a country in South America, like Venezuela where the gas is .12 (CNN Money 2008).

But, I digress and say the reason I make such bold claims is because we are in a situation. In a situation where if we as a country do not make the right decisions we will have nothing. I have come back here because my moms unemployed, older and ill. So luckly found a job with a multinational company, but on contract because its a hiring freeze.

I'm poorer here making $35,000 a year than I was making 100,000 RMB or $14,500 a year in China.
I lived good people. I had an apartment that cost me 2700 RMB to maintain or $400, daily eating cost of 14 RMB or $2, 100 RMB or $14 if you wanna be swanky . And this is really gonna make you flip. I got sick stayed in the hospital over night and spent guess how much; 1800 RMB or $270. This included a PRIVATE ROOM that had to be 20' x 100' with a personal nurse, medicine, food clothes and some of the best care in the VIP unit of the hospital. Now how much would that cost us here in the United States?

It looks like China, our banker's quality of life is steps ahead of ours.

So what would you do if the democrats and Obama do not win the 2008 General Election?

Would you leave?

they would still own congress "the real power". Just wont be able to get anything done for another 4.

But when Obama does when, his first four years wont look pretty to anyone. Superman wouldnt look pretty taking over this mess.

I have been trying to get on the same site all week, but I haven't been able to.

I would also argue that the last two elections have been close in the popular vote and they have been stolen. Some of the big states that we need are close and that leaves the door wide open again for Diebold. I stand by my statement.... pander all you want Obama..... I think no less of him for doing so. Integrity and principles are great, but if it was all that was needed to get elected then all of people on this board would be more qualified the everyone else in our government. I have the luxury of being able to live an unwavering principled life.... In politics, it just not realistic in our current climate. This country is split down the middle and we need some of the other team to vote our side.
Sinisterblogger
Exactly right. We need the election to be too lopsided to steal.

I did this polling analysis a couple of weeks ago. I think it's pretty sound, and it paints an excellent picture for Obama's prospects.

Aside from getting some of the wingers, Obama is tyring to disincentivize other wingers from getting motivated.

Well, I would probably move to a foreign city like New Orleans duing a hurricane, far, far, far from American soil according to a Dummy riding his mountainbike with Larry Craig ???

My American Indian ancestors got their asses kicked by this country, my German Jewish ancestors came to this country to keep from takin a shower. I might get hosed but I am not going down willingly, or quietly. I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE UNLESS ITS IN A BOX.

And my peeps got kicked out of Deutschland as well. But I'm not stupid. I'm outta here. Been workin on an escape plan for two years. This country will become the Soviet styled banana republic that the neo-cons want it to become if McCain gets in. I'd rather mow lawns or shovel driveways in Canada or France, and be discriminated against for being American, then live under a whole new Republican death-squad.

There was one comment that stated, im not leaving my country.

But for me the issues is plain, it was only until recently that I began to be included in this country (civil rights, 13-14-15 ammendment)
So Yes it is the home of my birth, but This country lets me know everyday, that it has no love for those who do not have a certain colour or economic status.

I hear you. But you gotta stand for something, and don't lose heart. A black man is now on the precipice of becoming the most powerful man in the world. If he doesn't get it, it's just a matter of time. If it happens here, it will change the world.

Change can be slow and painful, but it will happen. Even at this point, the political landscape will never be the same, for African-Americans or women. And even better, it will never me the same for old white guys like me.

It's Toronto for me baby! It's great there, like New York (only much cleaner), I can work as a performer there and my husband can teach there! My son can continue is sports career...and I will make a way for my extended family to get there too. I am deadly serious about this. McCain already told you there would be more wars...he talks about it all the time, and he has told you there are going to be more job losses...plus the thought of Lindsay Graham, Joe Lieberman and Phil and Wendy Gramm being on television touting McElderly on a regular basis would be enough to make throw myself in front of a speeding train!

Leaving the country is for pussies, seriously. Stay and work hard to improve it. Unless you really think it's a lost cause, then scram.

I suspect the effect of a McCain administration will be mitigated by larger majorities of Democrats in the House and Senate. Then, in 2012 we can have a repeat of this primary season. Won't that be fun?

I would prepare myself and my family for a new depression era, an economic decline that I believe will not be relegated to the US. I would only leave if it looked like the country is becoming dangerous because my family comes before my patriotic duty. I guess in a way, I'm hoping that the co. that DH works for would have the capacity to move us to another country since they are international if it were necessary, but otherwise I'm staying put and they'd have to pull us out of our home, kicking and screaming if they want to take it.

What will you do if Democrats don't win the election?, What if Obama Loses?

I won't waste any time grieving. The f**king pukes have failed to exercise their oversight responsibilities in Congress. If Obama loses, then I'll just say, "Up yo mama!"

It probably won't matter if Obama wins or loses. The economy is already so ban-jaxed that there will be attempted mass-migrations from poorer parts of the country to wealthier parts as happened in the last Great Depression. Only this time, I'm thinking, the residents in the richer parts will pull up the welcome mat to the point of secession.

It stands to reason that wealthier, more productive regions can't absorb all the poverty cases from the rest of the country and a move to keep wealth at home instead of sending it to DC is all the more incentive to break away.

For the Republic of Cascadia!
