This is what happens when you have a poster (we're looking at you, Mayoria) tries to play word games rather get involved with semantics. Seriously. No substance.

On the other hand we have Majesty and Peak who although frequently wrong (and rarely correct) at least give POVs with substance.

First of all, it's part of the game to twist ANY unpopular remark - to be nasty..

You perceive the chip, I don't think I have one..

Here is clue for the spectacularly obtuse: you know the name of the thread? Complaining about Rush Limbaugh's contract? That is where one can see that one can be substantive without being dense.

What do you mean, "it's part of the game to twist ANY unpopular remark - to be nasty.."?

There is an old saying "What goes around comes around."

Suppose that you play this game of being 'nasty' and twisting remarks; in your "game playing" others will twist your remarks and be nasty towards you, WHY DOES it offend you WHEN it is done to you?

Do you not know that someone offending you is part of 'the game'?
Yet it makes you angry.

It is as if you set yourself up for a fight and then cry because you get hit.

Could you explain it to me?

because it sounds like a case of "I can but you can't" attitude.

Clear Channel recently signed Glenn Beck to a $50 million deal. Dr. Laura has 8 million listeners and she is up for renewal. The Sean Hannity radio contract is also set to expire soon. His audience is of comparable size to Limbaugh. This year Clear Channel will hand out over a billion dollars in contracts to their right wing douche-bags.

To come to the RRMB and flaunt your Ditto-Head credentials and not expect a shit storm is the most foolish thing I've seen this week. Come on Dude the Yanks are gonna win this year. Don't you want to be here to gloat? It may be your only chance cause McCain is goin' down hard.

You're not nearly as good at this as QBC is.

A few facts:
1. The Yankees won't go anywhere if they don't start hitting.
2. I don't support McCain.
3. I'm not in competition with QBC.
I wouldn't ask anyone here to do something I haven't done myself. When Air America was on the air in my area, I listened. I listened for months to see what Liberal radio was all about. What I suggested was to actually listen to Rush and then make up your own mind.

I actually listen to Rush regularly. I can't get Air America for the most part in the car and I travel during Rush's show to go to/from my radiation treatment.
He aggravates the hell out of me. I spend every commercial break of his yelling at my radio.

You are being judgemental
who
The wikipedia entry on this wretched excuse for a human being is excellent with citations for everything.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_Limbaugh

excerpts:
So Rush comes from a family of jurists and lawyers, that would explain the pompous rhetorical style, overcompensating for failing to meet family standards for accomplishment.
QUOTE
Limbaugh was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of Mildred Carolyn "Millie" (née Armstrong), originally from Searcy, Arkansas, and Rush Hudson Limbaugh, Jr. His father was a lawyer and a World War II fighter pilot who served in the China-Burma-India theater. The name "Rush" was chosen for his grandfather to honor the maiden name of family member Edna Rush.[5] His family is filled with a number of lawyers including his grandfather, father and his brother David Limbaugh. His uncle, Stephen N. Limbaugh, Sr. is a Ronald Reagan appointed federal judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and his cousin, Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr., is Judge on the Supreme Court of Missouri. Rush Limbaugh, Sr., Limbaugh's grandfather, was a Missouri prosecutor, judge, special commissioner and served on Missouri's state House of Representatives from 1930 to 1932.[6] Limbaugh's grandfather was very well respected as one of the "patriarchs" of the Cape Girardeau community. Rush, Sr., passed away at age 104 and was still a practicing attorney at the time of his death. Limbaugh began his career in radio as a teenager in 1967[7] in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, using the name Rusty Sharpe.[5]

A failure in High School and a college dropout who never served.

QUOTE
Limbaugh graduated from Cape Central High School, in 1969. His father and mother wanted him to attend college, so he enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University. But he dropped out after two semesters and one summer; according to his mother, "he flunked everything", even a modern ballroom dancing class.[5] His mother was not entirely surprised. As she told a reporter in 1992, "He just didn't seem interested in anything except radio."[8]

Limbaugh's birthdate was ranked as 175 in the Vietnam War draft lottery. No one was drafted above 125. However, he was classified as "1-Y" (later reclassified "4-F") due to either a football knee injury or a diagnosis of Pilonidal disease.[9][5]

A shameless and unprincipled right wing attack dog:

QUOTE
Michael J. Fox incident

On the October 23, 2006 edition of his radio show, Limbaugh imitated on the "DittoCam" (the webcam for website subscribers to see him on the air) the physical symptoms of actor Michael J. Fox, who has Parkinson's disease and has appeared in political campaign ads for candidates who support a form of embryonic stem cell research,[14][15] and has stated that he sometimes doesn't take his medicine explicitly to show the effects of the disease.[16] Limbaugh imitated Fox's Parkinson's symptoms as displayed on the commercial, stating that "(Fox) is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act.... This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."[17]

No blow is to low for El Rushbo:

QUOTE
Phony soldiers controversy

Another controversy occurred during the September 26, 2007 broadcast of Limbaugh's radio show, when he used the term "phony soldiers", allegedly referencing a September 21 Associated Press story about individuals falsely claiming to be veterans in order to receive benefits.[19] A caller, after saying he was currently serving in the Army and has been in 14 years, said, "They never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and spout to the media." Limbaugh interrupted, "The phony soldiers." The caller continued, "The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country."

Disrupting the electoral process and encouraging violence:
QUOTE
Operation Chaos

Limbaugh has stated that there is nothing wrong with Republicans voting in the Democratic primary, as Democrats voted for McCain in Vermont, New Hampshire, Florida, and other states. "This is getting absurd. If it weren't for independents and Democrats crossing over, Senator McCain would not be our nominee!"[35]

<snip>

Limbaugh has said that "The dream end of this [of Operation Chaos] is that this keeps up to the Convention, and that we have a recreation of Chicago 1968 with burning cars, protests, fire, and literal riots and all of that, that is the objective here."

Inveterate and outspoken racist:

QUOTE
Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team.[

Drug addict:

QUOTE
On October 3, 2003 the National Enquirer reported that Limbaugh was being investigated for illegally obtaining the prescription drugs oxycodone and hydrocodone. Other news outlets quickly confirmed the investigation.[91] He admitted to listeners on his radio show on October 10 that he was addicted to prescription painkillers and stated that he would enter inpatient treatment for 30 days, immediately after the broadcast.[92] Limbaugh has stated his addiction to painkillers resulted from several years of severe back pain heightened by a botched surgery intended to correct those problems.

A steadfast core audience of "dittobots" that delight in his vicious nonsense. But the majority of Americans can't stand him.
QUOTE
Limbaugh presently maintains, and has maintained for many years, the highest rated radio show in the United States, with more than 13.5 million listeners a week.[115] In 2003, he had an audience of nearly 20 million a week.[116] However, public polls have shown that a strong majority of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Limbaugh, such as a Rasmussen Reports poll illustrating a 2-1 margin of unfavorable ratings, with 62% of those surveyed reporting an unfavorable opinion of Limbaugh, the highest for any public figure polled by Rasmussen.[117]

When Rush goes to Hell I'm confident that his ravings will be broadcast on Hell Radio to the great delight of all of the "dittobots" who will have joined him there.

Wow; you get so worked up about this?

Rush is just stating his opinions - in a free country, we are allowed to share our opinions.

He's being paid because so many people tune into his shows.

I don't understand why anyone who disagrees with Rush needs to go so over the top with stuff like: "dumbshit, worthless piece of crap, padded rooms, fuck Rush".

You make it sound so dirty.

People tend to flock to talkers who they find entertaining, whether they agree with them or not. There was a time when we could receive AAR here in Dallas and I was able to tune into my favorite AAR personalities.

For awhile, before Ed Shultz took over her time slot, I regularly listened to Randi Rhodes. Given that she was on opposite Hannity, that is saying a lot. I never agreed with anything she said, but I found her to be very entertaining. During my morning drive I would listen to Rachel Maddow. Again, I didn't agree with her politics, but I found her to be very insightful.

I was really upset when the Dallas AAR affiliate was taken off the air. We do have a Nova affiliate in Dallas, but unfortunately the power is so low that I can't receive it in the northern Dallas suburbs.
