............Barack Obama

Right now he is beginning to alienate a lot of his core of voters, his base, with some of the things he is saying and the reversal of some of his positions. And, he needs to stop saying nice things about McCain's military service, too.

Right now if he wants to see his biggest enemy, all he has to do is look in the mirror.

To all of us who might be getting a little worried and upset about some of Obama's recent statements I would suggest checking out the views of his closest advisors. I have been catching quite a bit of their participation on panels dealing with national security, the economy, constitutional rights. Iraq, Iran, etc. vs. the neo nuts and I have no doubt that Obama is the real deal. Let's not confuse the Obama campaign being smart enough to not get painted into untenable positions based on sound bites. I would suggest to everybody to try to catch some C-SPAN. That is where you can actually get "spin free" and in depth discussions by the experts on both sides of the issues. Their website is really easy to navigate and you can watch replays of televised events from earlier in the day or week on your computer, or you can get their podcast. Thank goodness for C-SPAN

Does anyone actually think that Obama is going to take the oath of office and morph into Bush the 1st, or perhaps Nixon? Of course not. We are in the midst of the most important election in the past 100 years, at least, and it's not going to be easy or pretty. IMO, our job now is to question, but also to keep our powder dry and continue our support of Obama until or unless he does something lose our support.

We must remember that "Da Nooz" is NOT going to give us the truth. Da Nooz is a nazi propaganda tool and will do everything to distort and twist anything Obama says.

I believe that voters will only have to look at the alternatives:

Obama = progress for America and the World

McCain = destruction of America and the end of the World

If you expect perfection from your politicians, you will be severely let down.

Well said! Let us all get over the fact that the man isnt out there walking on water. He has to get elected, and I have not seen him go 180 on anything he said earler. I too wish I was hearing a little more of the stuff heard during the primaries, but there is plenty of time for that to come, especially when we see a face to face confrontation vs McSame. I think that all this stuff lately is just prep for that time. He cant look like he is abusing a senior citizen, can he?? laugh.gif

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer"

What harm does it do to make tens of millions of Americans feel that they are being heard? Personally, I hate it, but I think it's brilliant politics.

I think it is a big mistake to compare what Obama has in mind with what Bush was doing. First of all, for Bush and Rove...faith is a tool for political expediency! What did he really give his "faith based" koolaid drinkers? Absolutely the f***k nothing! Nada. Secondly, I just don't get the impression that Obama is talking about the same kind of things when it comes to incorporated faith into action. He has to reach certain "people of faith" where they are right now, in order to bring them into the fold. The challenges that we face after the criminality and neglect of Bush & Company is so overwhelming, we are going to have to meet people on their turf and try to use all of the mindsets and skills that we ALL have to bring this country to a place of recovery. I guess we could continue with hard positions and all stubbornly stay in our own camps, but isn't that the kind of mindset that gave of the lawlessness of Bush? Obama could say, "let's dump everything and diss everybody" right now, but how is that going to get people to vote for him and bring him to the office where he could make those changes. That would be like me applying for the job, coming into the company and telling everyone from the top down that their work and ideas suck, and they should change everything right now and take my suggestions. You think people would be inclined to hire me and work with me? Don't think so.... blink.gif
