yummo...

After polishing off your Luther Burger, you might want to try one of these for desert:

QUOTE
http://www.recipezaar.com/70068

Deep Fried Snickers

Ingredients
* Snickers bars
* funnel cake mix
* frying oil

Directions

1.Push popcicle sticks into Snickers bar from the bottom about half way up.

2.Freeze Snickers until frozen solid.

3.For the funnel cake batter, you can either buy the mix at the store or make your own batter (there are several one's on recipezaar).
4.Dip frozen Snickers into the batter.

5.Fry in hot oil until golden brown (just a few minutes).

6. Remove from oil and drain.

7.Top with powdered sugar or caramel sauce if desired.

The BEST fried food I ever had was alcapurrias.

Wash it down with a beer and it's a meal, LOL.

It's a stuffed yucca fritter. Meat stuffed is yummy rimshot.gif

Who knew fried food could be good for you?

ALL YOU CAN EAT IS ONE, lol...TWO if you're really hungry....2.5 if you're starving

Sounds good! I rarely eat any fried foods, but I LOVE a good old greasy cheeseburger from a truckstop now and then.

No, I think I'd prefer to finish off this modest repast with a glass of bacon vodka.

http://www.browniepointsblog.com/2008/01/2...de-bacon-vodka/

Bacon Vodka

makes up one pint

Fry up three strips of bacon.
Add cooked bacon to a clean pint sized mason jar. Trim the ends of the bacon if they are too tall to fit in the jar. Or you could go hog wild and just pile in a bunch of fried up bacon scraps. Optional: add crushed black peppercorns.
Fill the jar up with vodka. Cap and place in a dark cupboard for at least three weeks. That’s right- I didn’t refrigerate it.
At the end of the three week resting period, place the bacon vodka in the freezer to solidify the fats. Strain out the fats through a coffee filter to yield a clear filtered pale yellow bacon vodka.

Decant into decorative bottles and enjoy.

Howls of Dirisive Laughter, Bruce. You should toddle on out to the San Gabriel(pronounced San Gabrul) Valley for a PastramiCheeseBurger with Chili Cheese Fries from here:

Bacon cheeseburgers made from glazed donuts ... hmmmm.

You know, I like sweet n salty mixed together, but that just looks awful.

I assume they give you the number of nearby cardiologists after you enjoy one.

I'm dying to at least make a Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburger at home. I'm very curious. My girlfriend follows a Kosher diet, so I may have to sneak the bacon into the house. rolleyes.gif

Oh, dear me, Alas, by Jove. How else are you going to confirm my thesis that, just as New York has a neighborhood from every major city on the world, LA has a suburb of every major city on the world? Where else will you learn that all the Northern Chinese live in southern California and all the southern Chinese live in Northern California? Where else will you see the vast splendor of 500+ Asian bridal shops on one street(Las Tunas Blvd), or the plethora of Snakehead Chinese Buffet restaurants nearby? To bowdlerize Mark Volman and Frank Zappa,

Where can I go to get decent Basturma in Alhambra? Where can I go to buy Chinese New Year Good Luck Pieces in Rosemead? Where can I go to see the Doo-Dah parade in Pasadena? Where can I go to buy obscure soda pop in Eagle Rock?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, all these questions and more can be answered by taking a cruise up Huntington Drive past the California Cookshack(best breakfast in South Pas) under the spreading Jackamundo trees as that brownish-orange haze stretches forth before you. San Gabriel Valley, Land Of Mystery.

Then there's always the Monte Cristo sandwich.

QUOTE
A Monte Cristo is a sandwich of ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese between batter-dipped grilled or fried bread.

The sandwich can differ regionally. Traditionally it is dipped in its entirety in batter and deep fried. In some regions of the United States it is served grilled, and in some regions it is served as an open sandwich with just the bread battered.

There USED to be a terrific spot, a dive just a hop and a skip down from you on Cahuenga near Chandler. The name escapes me, but if it's still there you cannot miss it on the east side of Cahuenga.

You're talking about "Super-Tacos Mechuochan" on "Vineland" and "Chandler" it's gone now. New owners, new cook, and they changed the name. They made the best burritos but Dude that's Mexican the artery cloggers we're talking about are clearly Caribbean.

Deep fried pizza!!! Those wacky Scots, using fish and chips batter and oil, no less... I'm sure the vegetarian version is MUCH healthier... biggrin.gif

Nope, they had a gigantic sign that read something like "MIAMI CUBAN SANDWICHES." My Cubano neighbors sent me there for the cochifritos (which I'd never previously heard of). But it HAS been some time since my last trip, and now you have me wondering if it might be talking up a place long-since gone. I'll have to see if I can spot it tomorrow and get back to you.

While I well know these are far from the most appalling examples to be found worldwide, this thread is populated by some of the most disgusting foods ever to grace the RRMB. The vivisected Guinea Pig on the plate may set a new horror low.
