Full Version: Greetings--and would anybody object if I start all over?

The reality is that I'm this little, old lady type retired schoolteacher. And I got so excited yesterday about finding this board and being on a site that is actually devoted mostly to people who are Randi lovers--like me and most of the rest of the people who post here, that I got massively carried away and posted way to much and generally made a nuisance of myself, I'm sure.

Please forgive me.

For the benefit of those who suggested I use a smaller font, yes...I can read this. All I have to do is squint just so and and lean in real close to the monitor. I'll do that for your sake--if you will, for my sake, forgive typos I miss. Agreed?

And I remain pretty much a one-subject post-er/blogger or whatever. But I'm also interested in prison reform in general and possible lack of ethics in our judicial and court system in the U.S. (I suppose that could bring on a flood of lawyer jokes! I'd tell one or two myself, except I can't seem to recall any at the moment.

You know...you really do forget things more easily as you get older. But my doctor tells me not to worry about it; she says it's just that I have so many more things to remember than other folks do.

OK, that's enough for today. Perhaps you will find me less of a nuisance this time.

Anie,
Once again, welcome to the board.
You weren't a nuisance. Honestly. I just wanted to give you advice and help you along yesterday, not drive you away. You say you're a one topic poster, but you may find if you read other people's threads that you have something to say on those topics too. A woman of your experience may have a great deal to say on a great many subjects. Take a look around and you may find that you can add a great deal to other discussions.
In the meantime, as I suggested yesterday, please start a thread (probably in the general discussion section) giving a timeline and background about your topic so we can follow along. We can't understand your anger and passion until we understand the topic you want to discuss.
Peace,
Kim

Pronounce my name? Heck, I've actually had people tell me I pronounce it wrong! LOL

But I pronounce it it two syllables, thus: "Aw-nuh," with the accent on the first syllable. It's Celtic and a chosen name, not the one my parents gave me at birth.

OK...and now I can't resist adding this part. The Aine of Celtic mythology was a fairy queen. When I first began casting about for a chosen name, I thought that was kind of funny. Then it dawned on me that Celtic fairies were not Tinkerbell types, but rather were small humans who lived in the hills. Thus the original Aine would have been a clan mother and a very powerful woman, despite her shortness of stature. So I took her name when I was about fifty--I seem to be spending the rest of my life trying to live up to it!!!

Oh, I'll read other threads. I enjoy a board like this tremendously and want to enjoy every part of it. I'll be quite happy to put in my 2 or 3 cents worth. And yes, I'll go into the Elsa Newman case and start at the beginning as best I can, so people will understand. If there is anything I need, it is understanding for what I am trying to accomplish on behalf of Elsa and her sons. I'm just going to start a little slower and take it from the beginning and try to make it interesting.

Thanks again--for the welcome, for the advice and for caring enough to give both.
