What Barack needs to do is CONNECT how the cost of the Iraq war is detrimental to the progress in those other five areas, and transform their religious conservatism into the Liberalism of Christ himself, by pointing out how caring for the poor, the young and elderly, ending war, and reducing crime are essential Christian values.
