I'm not a fan of the "backstage pass" idea either...I think it's super fantastic that he'll be at the stadium, but, come on...he's got rock star popularity, he doesn't need to drill it in our heads...

I love it! Heck, I gave 15. a couple months ago for a car magnet....and my car is plastic. I'm happy with the whole thing. In fact I was flagging a bit with the fisa thing, although of course I'm still voting for him, and this kind of pepped me up. And I'm old, not a kid at all, but apparently I can be bought with a bit of hope.

Accepting the nomination in an NFL stadium is a brilliant idea. Having a backstage pass contest for a five dollar minimum campaign contribution is a brilliant idea. The Repubs are just criticizing it, because they know they'll be lucky if they can fill the arena for their convention.

This Mile High idea is a populist idea.
About this being cheesy? I don't know. I guess it is a little, but it's a nice gesture.

I think we are onto something here, progressive politics. Throw that ole rovian style textbook out the window. The atmosphere is like going to a concert. We need a good band on this one. We need to sell Obama Tshirts. We need to give away backstage passes. We need a film crew backstage. We need an "eye view" from the audience, as well as a camera onstage. We need the stadium big screen. Ya know maybe instead of balloons, beachballs and frisbies. I think we ought to keep brainstorming, good work, modern political marketing, I like it.

First of all, there are going to be so many freaking people who'll want to go to this convention it won't be funny. Having it in a football stadium is a great idea. If you put it in a 10,000-20,000 seat venue there will be so many people outside if you throw in a few radical entities either from Hillary or republican operatives, you have a recipe for disaster. I'm looking for radical conservatives ala the Brooks Bros. riot, to mobilize outside the stadium and try to start some kind of riot like they did at the recount. The republicans are desperate to start trouble to make the dems look bad and this could be just the type of chaos they'll be looking for to stir up controversy. If you think this is tin foil hat territory, just read Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine". The bigger venue the better.
As far as the contest for backstage passes is concerned, who wouldn't want to meet Barack Obama?? I'd love to have a few minutes with him to talk about the Enron Loophole, Blackwater, FISA, etc.

Personally, I think it if freaking AWESOME! He wants the masses to hear him, not just the party elite, big donors and deligates. My husband has the Broncos organization as a client.... he's going to try to see if we can get some tickets through his contacts there.... It's a long shot, but worth looking into.... since he is paid in season tickets. I was planning on renting my house for a pile of money and going to Hawaii for the week. Now, I think I'll stick around and see if we can go to Invesco for the speech.

You're kidding? First word was Obama?? How awesome is that?!?!?!?! Whenever Kayden hears Obama on the TV he stops what he is doing and looks up at the TV. I tell him that Obama is going to change his future and on some weird level I think he gets it. Hell... I'm teaching him sign language and he gets that.... why wouldn't he understand on a elementary level that Obama is important to his future? Or maybe I'm just crazy.... I like to think he gets it all the same.

Not too far fetched w/ Clinton supporters helping out with negative Obama and economy article in L.A. Times today and the McCain mob ties.

I forgot to mention contracting the people from Dancing with the Stars for entertainment as well as a good band. Ya know, sex sells too for entertainment, just check out the pics on Foxnews website some time. Chics lie, even married chics, about checking out men's packages even walking down the street. That is part of the subminal appeal to Dancing with the Stars. Of course, I myself appreciate the Arts and so that is why I tune in, ralllllllly I do. We need to step up the quality of political entertainment here and scantily clad russian anorexic looking dancers is part of that deal, some really high quality Obama girls, if you were to ask me.
