We need more seats to stop the bulcrap that the republicans are pulling because we don't have the numbers to stop them. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

the democrats losing control of the house or senate or both would be disastrous for this country
we need to get rid of the blue dogs, but not at our own peril

To eliminate the Blue Dogs, I believe Democrats need to focus on winning state legislatures.

Winning state legislatures means they control state redistricting/gerrymandering.

Eliminating gerrymandering will eliminate the crazily drawn districts that isolate conservative voters into one oddly shaped voting district that tends to elect a conservative Democrat - or Republican - in the first place.

Republicans know Congress is out of touch. Republicans with brains also know Congress is NOT conservative economics. Neither are BLUE DOGS. How else are we in UNPAYABLE DEBT?

We haven't seen real conservative economics since the early 60's. So Republicans and Blue Dogs appeal to their 'defend America' bullcrap by putting US all in debt and give all away to the Banks and Defence....and let's not forget the NEW WAVE Economics putting US in more debt by building up the surveillance and prison industry complexes. ITS SICK!

That's not conservative economics. Blue Dogs are shills and I'll wager most Republicans see them all with scepticism.

Didn't I see recently a public opinion POLL on Congress? Something like 6%.

I would also add... get involved in your City and Town's elections. We need to make sure the naive voters know to NEVER vote in a CITY MANAGER. This is 'new local politics' which basically hijacks local control. The 'city managers' have a right to override the Mayor and Council members decisions and hiring and firing practices.

This 'hijacking' is happening acoss the country, bit by bit, town by town. And, the City Manager WILL be the main man, or woman, who permits Posse Comitatus laws to be broken.

That's the plan...beware.

The town I live in has a City Manager that has basically allowed any good paying job to be pulled out of town. If he was an elected official, he would have been voted out of office along time ago.

Not for more gridlock. Leiberman, Blue Dogs etc need to be dealt with. No more triangulating to get their votes.

Don't know how exactly but this is the time to hold them accountable. It may be there will need to be a compromise but not yet. Time they were put on notice.

I've also heard these City Managers are more involved with 'outside the city' bids and contracts, which will impose more taxes on you for those outrageous no-bid contracts and covorting with social-political NGO's geared towards Constitution breakdown.

No matter what happens in November, we need to immediately start thinking 2010, and what seats are up for grabs.

And the grooming of more progressive Dem candidates to replace the regressive Dems has begun long ago and when the time is right, we will kick these Blue Dogshits ever so sharply to the fucking curb.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Why should Nancy Pelosi for example do the things she promised to do, when she knows the people won't vote for Cindy Sheehan because they're afraid the seat will be lost to a Republican?
