Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the vi'lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...

I was looking for a copy of my resume in my computer files and I found the original post.
The first post I ever made to the RRMB in March of 2004.

I thought it was lost forever.

Here it is unedited. It was titled "Fashion and Fascism although I don't address fascism directly.

PHANTOM PASSENGER SAID:

Fashion and Fascism, OH I JUST WANT TO SCREAM!

Back in the Fifties and Sixties it was easy, people expressed themselves through what they wore and you could be pretty sure of telling what a persons’ views were either politically or artistically by what they were wearing. Their outward appearance was like a mirror of their soul.
You could just look at a guy in brown shoes and a suit with a crew cut hair style and pretty much know he was a creep without even talking to him.

IT AINT LIKE THAT NO MORE!

Sometime in the late Seventies early Eighties it dawned on commercialists that you can influence people by appealing to their perceived peer group.

“Yes, I’m a Cowboy just like you see my boots and my hat, hear my accent.
You Can Trust Me, let me influence you.”

“Yes, I love rock’n roll just like you see my jeans and my long hair, see my guitar.
You Can Trust Me, let me influence you.”

“Yes, I’m a Christian just like you see my Bible which I can quote (out of context) see me suffer as I pray. (I make a point of praying in front of other people so they can see me.) You Can Trust Me, let me influence you.”

OH MY GOD They’ve stolen our clothes people.

The Cowboy: Trail Hat, Riding Boots and Jeans. (Loves good old fashioned country music.) The sound and look invented by Woody Guthrie, Will Rogers, Gene Autry, Tex Ridder, Roy Rodgers, Hopalong Cassidy, now worn by Willie Nelson…..
Has been hijacked. The Bastards dress like that now because it makes them look like men of the people. (That fool with the white hat whose name I can’t remember from the Ford Truck commercials comes to mind.)
They are fascists in hip clothing. They just want your money and to fool you into voting against your best interests, or not voting at all.

The Rock Star: Ripped Jeans, Leather Jacket, Bandanas, Large belt buckles, (Loves Urban Garage Band Country, Folk and R & cool.gif The look and sound invented by peaceniks like Jagger, Daltry and Morrison, Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone now worn by Bono. Has been hijacked. The Bastards dress like that now because it makes them look like men of the people. (Kid Rock) They are fascists in hip clothing. They just want your money and to fool you into voting against your best interests, or not voting at all.

The Hip Hop Homey: Listen to me foo…if you’re were’n FUBU, and you voted for BUSH. You are simply beneath contempt… Nuff Sed !!!

Don’t be fooled. You can’t judge a book by its cover. And you can only judge a patriot by the content of his speech and who he chooses to call friend.

Thanks for letting me indulge in a trip down memory lane.

"The Nuge" springs tastelessly to mind. Sans hip clothing.

Thanx for sharing your maiden voyage. biggrin.gif

I am shocked and appalled to find you attempting to claim credit for the work of Phantom Passenger.

All we have left of the guy is a pair of nasty old sneakers, and here you are picking his bones for your own aggrandizement.

I'm disgusted. I'm thisclose to hitting "report."

And from the same folks, following on John McCain referencing Czechoslovakia twice in recent press conference (a nation defunct since 1993 and today split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia).

John McCain's Map of the World.

'Course, I'd have though it funnier if, rather than "Ceylon"
they had gone with "Ceylon Dion."

Wow, an astonishing improvement in the quality of their past work, technically, musically, in terms of comedy, and so forth. Not that they had problems before, but they've used their success well. Exceptionally well done, I thought.
