Picture it: rural area, Sunday morning, church is packed and the devil decides to pay a visit.

The doors burst open, and a rolling black cloud rolls in with the devil in its midst. People jump out of the pews and run outdoors, screaming - all except for two. One is the Pastor, the other is an elderly farmer.

Satan is a bit perplexed. He points to the Pastor and says, "You! I can understand why you didn't run away, you are in your Lord's house, you preach against me everyday and you aren't afraid of me. But YOU (points to the farmer), why didn't you run out scared like everyone else?"

The farmer crosses one leg over the other and drawls, "Why, I'm surprised you don't recognize me...I've been married to your sister for 36 years!"

Hillary was finishing up a day as Senator for New York when the Devil suddenly appeared in her office and made her an offer...

Hillary was deep in thought for a moment, then finally spoke:

Back to the garden. My corn is growing, the sqash is spreading, the tomatoes are blooming, the garlic is out of control, and the peppers are already ready to pick. Perhaps I'll pick a peck of peppers.

That's true. It's best to keep that in mind.

I don't grow corn. My Carrots are happy. My Squash is spreading too. The Tomatoes are gettin' big. My Garlic died but the Chives are doing well. The Peppers died too. The Mint is thin this year. The Oregano is tasty. The Tarragon always comes back. The Basil has big leaves and you just can't kill the Rosemary or the Bay Laural no matter how much you ignore them. Such is life. Happy farming.

Eye tried carrots and they died.

My Basil is really taking off, and my sage is good. The Rosemary is growing tall. My celantro and Parsley are also doing good. I'll have garlic coming out my ears and yes, it has been cut back so as not to crowd the corn.

I'm considering planting some okra, however I may have to extend the garden.

Let's not talk about trading carrots. When I was around 12 or 13 my mother traded our entire crop of garden carrots for a freezer full of cauliflower. Her reasoning was "cauliflower is expensive!" The problem is I wasn't much enamoured with cauliflower in the first place. Having cauliflower for every meal for months left me unable to eat cauliflower. I'm scarred for life.
