What to watch for in West Virginia

Obama's campaign assumes that he will lose in West Virginia on Tuesday and split a pair of May 20 contests, losing in Kentucky and winning in Oregon. The three primaries, strategists say, will give him a firm majority of pledged delegates, excluding Michigan and Florida, and the right to declare victory.

YOUNG EVANGELICALS FOR OBAMA

MCCAIN'S TAX PLAN

An analysis from the Center for American Progress Action Fund finds that John McCain’s massive corporate tax cut would save America’s ten largest electrical utility companies AND ten largest energy companies over $2.8 billion. (This is in addition to the $4 billion tax break for America’s five largest oil companies.)

The new Republican Slogan "The change you deserve" is borrowed from anti-depressant slogan – IRONIC?!?!

It IS a very dangerous drug. I just hear the name and shudder. AND, it is advertised constantly on tv.

Thanks for posting this article.

Really people, most of the newer AD's on the market today ARE NOT good for you at all. Try good nutrition, a little exercise and friends.

Dear Randi,

Check out:
http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/05/fl...by-numbers.html

for a discussion of Florida and Michigan possibilities. Lots of facts and calculations.

There are many possible scenarios for seating FLA and MI including various magic numbers. There probably will be another change of talking points coming from the Clinton surrogates before this is all over, which may include different finish-line numbers. So you might as well refrain from reaming any more callers when they try to discuss various numbers. The caller who wondered about the disparity in McAuliff's statements Monday - that the magic number is 2209, but he would be happy to seat only half of both delegations - made an apt observation. If half delegations are being seated, the magic number has to be lower than 2209. In the case of seating only half the delegations of FLA and MI, the magic number becomes 2130 (or thereabouts), no matter who gets what numbers in their column. So McAuliff was out to lunch. You were already making that point, but your caller was trying to amplify your point, and you cut him off out of frustration.

I oersonally predict we're going to see Puerto Rico become the most important state in the union.

I couldn't think of a more fitting slogan to come from the RNC for that loyal 24%. Pretty much tells the truth doesn't it? You want to vote McCain and have a Retro-Bush presidency? Then whatever hardship and mediocrity that happens is all yours...

Exactly Dan.

Anyway I have a question for Randi. Is there a chance that Bob Barr could take votes from Obama?

I know this is good news about Barr. And it looks like he has both barrels aimed at McCain. But what about Hillary supporters? Is there a chance a percentage of them will run to Barr? Or is he just a tiny blip on the radar, anyway?

I'm just thinking out loud on this, and hope to get some perspective. ( A little worried about this.)

Don't the libertarians run a candidate every election cycle. Just like the LaRouches and all the other third parties?

Personally, I think people are so careful with how they will vote this time, and with the ground swell of young voters and those nameless, faceless voters that the retro-DLC-democrats can't quantify with their polls and surveys, that we have little to worry about when it comes to spoilers. Just my opinion. Plus a lot of libertarians want total free market crap like privitization of everything and that whole Atlas Shrugged stuff.

Randi, I have been listening to you since you were a jock at WSHE. I used to be one of your biggest fans. Now I can't even stand to listen to you anymore. I am sick of you telling me how uninformed and ignorant I am because I choose to support a different candidate than you. I am disgusted by the entire progressive talk field, as they do nothing but bash Hillary with all the insight and understanding of the political process that the average toddler has. My fellow democrats have taken a big lesson from the worst of the republikans: bash your enemies (in this case, other dems) mercilessly with personal attacks and whatever you do, give no credibility to their opinions.

I would just like to remind you and your cohorts that approximately HALF the democrats who are voting support Hillary, not Oback Barama. Stop trying to disenfrancise us.

I don't know if I will ever be able to listen to you again.

That makes me feel a little better - the part about the swell of voters and the polls being media phooey, anyway.

And Libetarians are a lot like neocons. Ugh.

If Hillary would have played by the rules that she agreed to play by in regards to both Michigan and Florida, none of this would be an issue. However, when she said that she knew that both of those states would not count but yet she wants them to count, that reminds me of a kid who wants to change the rules of a game so that he or she can win.

I actually supported John Edwards even though Obama is my Senator.

Personally, I think that Clinton needs to find a graceful way to exit just like John Edwards did when he realized that there was no sense to for him to be in the race any longer.

Whoa...Wait just a darned minute here...Um, perhaps you do not realize, but the clintonistas tried to get Randi off the air, and did for a couple of weeks...Apparently, Hillary-ites have thin skin? Can't take criticism, but boy oh girl can they give it...

Um, yeah, just pocket change, and all the rest for them. You have to give it to them though, they always stick to their ratio 98:2.

98% have just a wee bit to get by, compared to the very wealthy 2% who have 98% of the wealth.

Careful who you quote.
