As the link notes, it could be a leak.
It also could be an entrepreneur playing the odds for the sake of their tee-shirt concern.
Obviously, I hope it's the former.

I think it's more telling that Biden's family are all hanging out at Biden's house. And he made 2 trips to the bank. And he's not talking (OMG)!

That's great reporting from Andrea Mitchel I think. The reporter who the Repubs slammed for daring to suggest McCain was not in the cone of silence. I'm not good at names.

But this is the sort of thing that a woman notices. Us guys are sometimes clueless.

There's no Obama-Biden merchandise on Obama's website. I suggest people wait for conformation from Obama.

LOL I love the speculation though. I have never seen so much media hype trying to out guess or be the first to, announce the winner. One of these days we will have a new President and nobody will know what to do.

I personally feel that this would be a good direction to getting our Constitution back. Biden and his direct answers were refreshing. I am sick of pandering, Obama does it once in a while but then gives up his position later on. It will be nice to see Obama in charge finally to start the cleanup that will take at least 8 Presidents full term. Stop the war, invest in our infrastructure, it is 30 years overdue!
LibLaw
I like Biden and his direct approach. He would be a welcome change from the Veep we have now, in fact he could be his alter ego.

I like Biden, he is a hard ass dude, he likes to speak truth to power, and the people. He reminds me of Bob Uecker, but more serious.

When Randi asked him why he wouldn't call Bush a liar, he said, Why do you have to pick the hardest thing to do?

I'll be surprised if it's Biden. Obama wants to win the west. And he wants to punch a hole in the south. Biden doesn't help him on either front.

When we had hopes this was going to be a civil campaign I would have agreed.

Now that McCain has his Rove pig running things I think Biden will do well as a bulldog.

Almost as important, Mitchell said that those on the short list have been notified, including Bayh and Kaine. And she said that Hillary's people said she was never in the arena.

It's Biden. Unless there's some BIG surprise.

I like Biden or Kaine... Clinton mayyybe. These pundits are ridiculous... Chris Matthews was just throwing out of the blue "how bad will this make Obama look if it's not Biden since everybody expects it to be"... What?!?! That's an interesting way to displace blame for you trying to guess the results early.

Activity at the Bidens
(CNN) — After hours staking out Joe Biden's Delaware home with no sign of the prospective VP candidate, reporters are now witnessing a flurry of activity.

Cars have recently pulled into the driveway — including a police car — and Biden's daughter, son, and wife are now believed to be inside.

Is the Delaware Democrat gathering his family ahead of a big announcement?

U.S. Secret Service on Way to Biden's House; Kaine and Bayh Told Nope on Veep

August 22, 2008 10:50 PM

The United States Secret Service has dispatched a protective detail to assume the immediate protection of Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., a source tells ABC News, indicating in all likelihood that Biden has been officially notified that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, has selected him to be his running mate.

Sources also tell ABC News that two others said to be finalists for the position of Obama's running mate -- Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., and Virginia Gov Tim Kaine -- have been told they have not been selected to be Obama's running mate.

Too bad. Having to settle for a piece of DLC scum will be hard enough. Now I have to settle for "Mr. Rave Act"?

We can't win for losing in this party.

I hope freedom to pursue happiness will remain intact with Biden in the White House. Gotta watch him and stay on his ass if he starts any fascist utterances like he has in the past.

I have some issues with the guy, but all in all Biden's okay in my book.
On the upside, he'll be able to lay into McCain in way Obama can't.

I'm not taking it as a given, but I'm cool with that pick.

Yeah, I'll still vote for the ticket. But I also plan to be one of Biden's most vocal critics too.
If that bastard even tries any of his anti-freedom bullshit I'll treat him like the DLC vermin he is.

I said before, as long as it's not Hillary I will vote Democratic in November.
So this does mean that Obama has my vote locked up.

Los Angeles Times confirms it -- well kind of but we are getting close.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington...a-biden-vp.html

Sen. Barack Obama, the Democrats' about-to-be presidential nominee, has chosen a fellow senator, Joe Biden of Delaware, as his about-to-be running mate for the Nov. 4 general election.

Two high-ranking Democratic Party officials have confirmed the choice of the veteran to The Times.

The official announcement should come shortly, as promised, in an e-mail and text message dispatched to hundreds of thousands of Obama supporters around the world.

To be honest with all of you, I would rather see Obama lose the election than to bow down to the Clintonites and the Clinton demands. This is not there campaign anymore, it is Obama.

I have never seen SUCH BULLSHITE WHERE the loser is demanding total recognition and control over the party and some witch that was a Clinton supporter was on Chris Matthews saying that she had voted Democrat all her life but she would not be voting for Obama. Why WON'T the news anchor just flat out say it. It is about the "black thing"....what they are really saying is, "I WILL NOT VOTE FOR A BLACK MAN"....STOP USING ALL THE NONSENSICAL EXCUSES ABOUT INEXPERIENCE.

Bush has already approved a bill to for any doctor to refuse birth control .....so let's see where these CLINTON WOMEN ARE GOING TO DO NOW, MAKE IT HARD ANY WOMAN WHO WANTS USE BIRTH CONTROL METHODS JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO VOTE FOR A BLACK MAN.\\\\

THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL PURE RACIST HATRED...........!!!!!!!!

ABC says it is a done deal pretty much. Biden.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/st...7576&page=1

"Barack Obama has made his vice presidential pick: the first term Senator will tap his more experienced colleague, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., to join the Democratic ticket.

Biden, 65, brings immediate heft and foreign policy credentials to a ticket topped by the 47-year-old Obama. The Delaware Democrat first won his job in the Senate over 35 years ago -- when Obama was only 11 -- and has been reelected five times.

He's chaired both the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Judiciary Committee, and raised his profile recently by traveling on a fact-finding mission to war-torn Georgia, where he called for increased U.S. aid to the country and peacekeeping forces.

The trip underscored his vast foreign policy experience -- something that is lacking from Obama's resume. Biden is also thought to be someone who could hold his own during a vice presidential debate.

And though Delaware and the state's three electoral votes are reliably Democratic, Biden brings vast national political experience to the table. "
