Anyone else catch the significance in the fact that the text message alert went out to Obama supporters at 3:00AM EDT?

Obama is running against the insiders, yet he brings aboard an insider to be his VP. I have no problem with this because if Biden is opposite to an extent of what Obama is then they challenge each other intellectually. There is solid debate that someone can bring to the table who HAS the experience, who KNOWS how to play the politics of the beltway, who can give advice to the guy who is trying to CHANGE the politics of the beltway.

Biden can be for Obama what Cheney was for Bush, a Washington insider/pitbull who can really benefit Obama with his wisdom and experience. Obama brings his own unique brand of leadership, judgment, intelligence and an outsider's experience. Certain things opposite Obama which when forced to work together or think together will benefit this country.

Think Lincoln and Team of Rivals.

So it's now 5:35 am on the west coast, and I open my Browser to Yahoo, and I see the top news story is that Obama has chosen Biden. Hmmmm.

From the AP story, I don't know if it's truth, or if it's a lie:

"Obama's decision leaked to the media several hours before his aides planned to send a text message announcing the running mate, negating a promise that people who turned over their phone numbers would be the first to know who Obama had chosen. The campaign scrambled to send the text message after the leak, sending phones buzzing at the inconvenient time of just after 3 a.m. on the East Coast."

Now maybe I've entered a time warp here, but 3am on the east coast is about a half hour away... I've heard of reporters getting the scoop before, but they appear to be time travellers from the future. At a minimum, there are clearly errors in the story, I wonder what's up.

I'm fine with Biden. I like Biden, but if it's Biden, I sure hope it isn't a mistake for Obama. For the last couple of weeks, I have been thinking his best choice was to just bury the hatchet and choose Hillary. She brings a lot of baggage and will turn away some independents, but on the whole, if she would really unite the party, then maybe that would be the best course of action.

Oh well....
