As Thom Hartman said Trent Lott who got HIS house rebuilt after Katrina actually said the Republicans we're going to stop anything the Dems did just so they could SAY nothing was done in these elections. You know, I love listening to Randi and often she has very intelligent things to say, but I'm sorry... Telling people to shut up and that they're whining? How does that make her different from someone over at Faux News? I thought we left-leaning folk prided ourselves on allowing freedom of speech. But it looks like that's reserved only if you are a loyal democrat? That statement really disappointed me.
I don't blame people for complaining. I'm not a Clintonista and I'm not an Obama supporter. I was a Democrat my entire life until this presidential campaign. What I've been seeing from both the republicans AND the democrats sickens me lately. And, no, I m not talking about anything coming from the Obama campaign specifically.
I'm not voting Obama because I don't agree with his stand on the issues. I'm on my 3rd candidate this year. I'm watching news of Democrats being charged with using tax payer money to get Nader off the ballot in 2004. I'm watching Democrats try to get Green Party candidates off the ballot this year. I'm watching Democrats refusing to debate third party candidates. What the hell? So, we can only hear other progressive voices if they come from within the Democratic party? And even then, some of those voices get stifled... like Kucinich and Gravel? The actions of this party are no longer progressive.
I've listened all year to "progressive" radio talk show hosts talk ad nauseum about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. How often were the other even Democratic candidates mentioned? At least occasionally Thom Hartmann or Rachel Maddow had others on their show. But rather than helping third party candidates get their progressive messages out and helping steer the Democrats in a more progressive direction, they are just ignored. Almost as much as the mainstream media ignores third parties. How shameful and sad.
So we are told to just lump it if we are unhappy with the direction the Democrats are going, even when they refuse to impeach a criminal administration, even when they allow nominations of people like Mukasey to go through?
Yes, I realize there isn't enough of a majority, but that doesn't excuse the pure lack of leadership I've seen portrayed by Pelosi, Reid and Dean. It's been said before that Democrats can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I'm starting to believe that's true.
I'm sure I'll get flamed to high heaven for this post, but so be it.

I agree 100% with Randi. Quit your bitching and just think about what life would be like with
McInsane... If you want to end up homeless, starving, unemployed, no health care what so ever,
and quite possibly die in a nuclear war then by all means vote for McInsane.
All of this bitching and moaning is just crazy. Is it too much to ask you to vote for the person
that is most likely to help you? I am going to be really pissed if all you nay sayers give me
a cardboard box to live in and front row seat for the mushroom cloud.
I love Mike Malloy but his negativity has gotten to be too much. He is not helping at all.
This is the most important election in our lifetime but people are pissing all over it. You
have two choices only so quit bitching and decide if you want to live a full life or die a horrible
death. It's as simple as that.

More whining.
Here's the deal with third parties.
If candidates wanted to be serious about third parties, they would, run for local seats in off-election cycles, such as for their state legislatures and the US House. They would build fundraising mechanisms. They would get a foundation created at the local level in order to grow a national party. Instead, what do the greens and Nadar and the Libertarians do? They run for president every four years! Ridiculous and useless.

Last time I checked, there were Greens, Libertarians and Constitution Party folks on my ballot at the local level. I don't strictly vote party line either. I take the time to find out more about a candidate and what he or she stands for. I fault people for not bothering to learn about such candidates and voting party line all the time. Um. I'm not quite a newbie. I've been listening to Randi at least since before the last presidential election. Just cause I don't post doesn't make me new. As I've said, I've been listening to progressive radio speak ONLY about Democrats. Progressive should include people from all left-leaning parties so we have more choices. Why don't I hear more discussion about instant runoff voting or range voting. That would help third parties immensely and prevent us from having "only two choices".
We have more than 2 choices. I think we should vote for the candidate that most identifies with us and the policies we favor. The Democrats are no longer that for me. Is Obama for universal single-payer health care? Does he support gay marriage or civil unions? Does he support nuclear power??? And now more off-shore oil drilling? Compromise? No, I'm tired of compromising. Do the republicans ever compromise? Why should we?

Oh, are you insinuating that I'm a RW tool here to disrupt? Cause I'm not. I've heard her mention numerous tunes that she likes listening to, often old tapes from the 70's & 80's cause she hadn't used her car in some time (moving from NY back to FL). Oh give me a break. I'm sure I wasn't listening to her very first show, so sorry I can't name her first interviewee. I didn't realize that to be a fan of her show there was a certain duration you have to put in before being able to discuss what she says on her show. As I've already posted earlier, I've been listening to her since at LEAST prior to the 2004 presidential election. I've probably been listening longer than some of YOU. I didn't realize I had to quote ancient history from her show to be considered
not a RW tool. I know she's been calling Ed Schultz a party hack for a number of months now (although apparently she has buried the hatchet with him this week). I know she was in my town last week for a town hall meeting, which I wasn't fortunate enough to see cause it was sold out. I know she raised her niece b/c her sister died of cancer. If these factoids aren't enough for you, I don't know what else to tell you. I think you're being a bit paranoid. I've provided plenty of background information that someone "just stopping by" wouldn't be able to quote, so if that's not enough then too bad.

See I have to disagree on that one. When Obama and a number of others agreed to vote YES for the FISA bill with immunity, that was a huge hit on us and our constitutional rights. They're more than just accomplices. Every time they either voted in favor of such legislation or failed to vote at all for key bills like this, they are just as bad.
