In the hall of the convention, there's these four soldiers who were Navajo Code Talkers during WWII doing the presentation of colors, while these kids sang the national anthem, and the dude on MSNBC couldn't even shut the hell up and stop his "analysis" for Tweety's Hardball long enough to pay respects.
Nice job.
CNN stopped just long enough for Wolf Blitzer to catch a breath between monotone blathering.

Semper Fi, dude.
Sadly, I was in some effin' business meeting at that time. Would've liked to have seen the Code Talkers.
Mata hey
BTW: I have sad news. My friend Dennis from Veterans for Peace passed away from complications of Agent Orange in 'Nam. He will be missed. No nonsense straight up guy - you would've liked him.

It was just lame.
There aren't many of our WWII vets left (and even less Code Talkers), and their knowledge and perspective is invaluable (like the WWII interrogators of the Nazis who never used torture), and I flipped between the MSM coverage and the C-Span, and it just made me cry, because I thought, "Shut up and pay these men your attention, it literally is the LEAST you can do."

And those guys should have gotten a better shake too. Instead, we're repeating the Agent Orange mistake with vets suffering from Gulf War Syndrome and NDU/DU poisoning.
I think the ONLY time we really treated our guys correctly was post WWII. We need to get back to that kind of awareness.
I suppose we should be thankful that "Hoover II" isn't shooting at them like "Hoover I" did.

It annoys me that these people on the right can't even do Jingoism right.
For all there talk about patriotism they have absolutely no respect for American Institutions.
It's been driving me crazy for well nigh a decade now. I was in-sensed that after the eleventh of November that year every one had a U.S. Flag hanging out of their car windows and for the next three or four months riped and tattered U.S. flags were strewn all over the highway. All this talk about flag pins and their bloody flag pins are made in China. The hypocrisy and false piety are over the top. It's bloody disgusting and should be a cause for shame. I hate republicans.

I end up watching "the clowns" at least part of the time, only because otherwise, I'd have no idea where other people who watch ONLY clown television are coming up with their completely insane perspectives on events. Answer: They're getting it from the punditocracy.

The thing that killed me about the MSNBC one was that the dude talking over the opening ceremony was IN THE HALL while the anthem was playing, and he didn't shut up (I mean you could hear the music in the background), and his back was to the flag -- yet they gave shit to Obama for weeks for all that flag pin bullshit?

Yeah, I was TOTALLY gonna spank you over that, but you're self-flagellating quite well all on your own.
