I am not sure that a person who was just elected to the senate 4 years ago has enough qualifications to be President of the united states. That does not mean i wont hold my nose and vote for him but i don't think he has alot of experience. The answer to the incompetency of Bush is not putting a rookie in the White House. That is how I feel and Obama has not reasured me that he is ready for the Job. What i want for Obama is more specifics on how he plans to solve our problems rather than rheteric. That is why this race is so close. People need to feel that he is ready for the problems that he faces.
I don't think that people judge the adequacy of experience at all. Instead, I think that they judge the proposals. Those who like McCain don't like him because he has experience. They like him because he wants to smash the furrin devils, and so do they. People who like Obama probably have more faith that other people are more like us than alien, and a little more talking might be good before the killing starts.
Besides, it clearly matters what you have experience WITH. What is extensive experience with the lowest ranked Congress in history worth?
