While Obamaniacs competed for tickets and withstood long lines to see their hero at Denver's Invesco Field, John McCain's rumored announcement of his running mate here tomorrow is not exactly drawing the same interest.

McCain arrived here tonight to news reports that free tickets are still available to his rally tomorrow at a basketball arena at Wright State University. The Nutter Center has a capacity of about 12,000.

While McCain aides have mocked as grandiose Obama's plan to give his acceptance speech before more than 75,000 at the stadium where the Denver Broncos play, McCain's events Saturday and Sunday on his "Road to the Convention" tour are also at stadiums. Minor league stadiums.

One candidate speaks at Mile High Stadium. The other at the Nutter Center.

How appropriate.

No, no, no, no.

You've got it all wrong!

It was just leaked tonight, to show that McCain can fill a large venue, he's not going give his speech in a small, local grocery store, he's upgrading: McCain's giving HIS speech at a Costco!

Take THAT, Obama!

Good, Rachel Maddow and Stephanie Miller can go back to using the name MMMMitttenssss when referring to Romney. You can almost see the see the creepy Stepford Wives smiles and the eyes krinkle when they say. Bring on the man in the hairshirt.

That's really sad. laugh.gif

Not sure about how many the Nutter seats, probably somewhere between 14 and 18 thousand. It's used for medium sized concerts, minor league sports, and Wright State Basketball(maybe Div 2A NCAA)

And he can't fill that in A rethug stronghold. WOW! One thing's for sure You won't see too many wide shots of the crowd. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

What there isn't a big rally McBush can piggyback off of to show people support him...

I was thinking maybe U2, Rolling Stones, ABBA, Bon Jovi, Garth Brooks, and every other major music group could hold a concert and saying that anyone who wants to sit through 45 minutes of McBush can show up for free other wise they can't watch the show....

Under/over is about 1000 people would willing sit through it laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Don't take your eyes off the ball! If the corps are abandoning McCain, and I think they are, it's time for us to be asking, "Why? How do they intend to forward their agenda if they can't get a Republican elected to the oval office?"

Remember what happened during:

1. The Kennedy presidency.
2. The Carter presidency.
3. The Clinton presidency.

Remember what they did to Powell.

And we haven't yet called in a team of international inspectors to insure the fairness of our election. I really think it would be appropriate to do so.

Follow-up question for ya, UpperRight:

Now that the Insane Geezer's BFF MMMMitttenssss has faded into permanent obscurity, how do you feel about the Goddess Randi, the Gorgeous Stephanie, and the Brilliant Rachel introducing the new, improved arch-conservative savior of your party...

Ladies and Germs: May I present the next Also-Ran Vice President: WHAT'S HER NAME !

Last time I looked Minnesota is a long way from New Orleans so when I hear the talking heads repeating the McCains camps claim that they may cancell the convention due to Gustav it does make may wonder how many people believe this convienent excuse versus the reallity of them being embarrassed by the fact that only a 10 % of who showed up for Obamas convention might actually show up.

plodder
Or are we to believe they would be doing this out of sympathy for the 2005 victims??????? laugh.gif laugh.gif
FanFiltration
The only true reason I see for them wanting to cancel the convention is to keep Bush far from McCain at this point in the election. Bush is the weak link in this convention and hurts them. No Convention = No close ties to Bush on T.V. next week, and they can blame the storm to save face. Sounds like a Rove scam... wink.gif

McCain had to problems drawing a capacity crowd in Ohio on Friday to announce his VP selection, yet Obama and Biden drew 19,000 at a suburban Ohio high school on Saturday, when the Ohio State Buckeyes football team were playing a home-game.

Hardball
And all this time I thought McCain had settled on a strategy of fitting himself into the schedule of events that already had sold out crowds. Like Sturgis.
