If I said it once... then I haven't said it enough. Haha. The problem with the last few elections have been vote fraud, voter intimidation, voter's being disenfranchised and the new JimCrow. We have to be the ones to look out for these things at our local election places. More importantly, we have to make sure the word is spread that anomalies must be documented, recorded and fixed when possible. We have to spread the word to the typically uniformed citizen. [Just like Randi, I hope and expect this election to be a landslide victory for us. But let us leave no stone unturned.]

NYTimes:Officials [Feds] Say Flaws at Polls Will Remain in November

Flaws in voting machines used by millions of people will not be fixed in time for the presidential election because of a government backlog in testing the machines’ hardware and software, officials say.

Diebold Election Systems is one of the known guilty manufacturers of voter software meant to throw elections. (In an attempt to clean up their image, or really to hide it) They are changing their name to Premier Elections Solutions.

Spread the word. I'll try to summarize the booklet later. And I also plan on burning copies of that documentary and "sharing" it with as many people in different communities as possible; I'll tell them to burn copies and do the same.

ELECTION DAY SHOULD BE A HOLIDAY! "Yeah, it's that important."

Getting electronic voting machines decertified in your state, whatever that may be, is hugely important.

Hint: Scanned ballots are "almost" as bad as pure DRE's, because even when they go to do a recount, they do that by re-scanning the ballots.... into a computer.

As long as there is a computer somewhere in the process, there is a weakness.

I will say that probably the best system is the "Ink-a-Vote" system we use here in Hollywood. No hanging chads, and a numbered ballot woth which you can take your sample ballot and compared the dots you just marked, with your preselections that you carry with you to the voting booth.

In essence, I vote twice, but not in the naughty way. Once at home on the sample ballot that I take with me to the polls, and a second time on the real deal.

That way at least on my end, I an absolutely certain of how I voted. Lesson: Check and double check, and TAKE YOUR TIME, and prepare before you go to your local precinct.

However, it's important to keep an eye on what happens upstream, beyond even the voting booth itself. If Diebold's GEMS system is running your central tabulator, even if yu have non-DRE voting in your local precinct, your vote could be stolen just by hacking GEMS, which is programmed in C++ of all things. Any programmer here will tell you about the inherent hackability of that programming language.

I also recommend every citizen carry a video camera too. in case you happen to see spurious shit occuring the old fashioned way, by actual Republican human-animal hybrids in person.

A darn smart thing to do everyone. If you don't have a video camera... have person with one on speed-dial or make that camera on your cellphone handy.

A rehash of all of the Election Fraud conspiracy theorist arguments. From the trailer, the arguments look very similar to those made by Mark Crispin Miller in his book "Fooled Again".

Most of these arguments are strawman arguments, based on misrepresentation of factual data.

Yes, again with the lone Election Fraud Conspiracy crusader, Cliff Arnebeck. As I have repeated in the multiple RRMB threads referencing this story, the story has no legs and will go nowhere.

No disagreement that we still have a long way to go with electronic voting technology.

Known only in election conspiracy circles.

With early voting and polls that close at 7pm, I see no reason to make a change.

Also...you can sign up to be a poll worker...bring a camera...video...and a notepad....DOCUMENT EVERYTHING...while there, be sure to have the contact numbers of the lawyers whom I am sure will be available this time. Obama isn't going to mess around this time.

I've seen this one more times than I can count. The data presented in this video is misleading and in some cases downright false.

I've presented a historically accurate timeline of the 2000 election on multiple occasions, though I doubt any of the conspiracy theorists have ever taken the time to review it.

The trailer in this link presents more of the same conspiracy spin. Other than the spin, claiming that Republicans are setting out to supress the minority vote, there is nothing of substance in terms of concrete evidence presented.

It shows your motives, or naivety, to try to discredit something you assume you know about... yet have never seen. Watch "Uncounted"... not the trailer... as trailers obviously don't tell the whole story. It's a bipartisan effort, as you will see when you watch the documentary.

I'm betting the trailer does a good job of describing what this movie is about. It is a rehash of conspiracy theory spin. Unless you are telling me the trailer bears no relation to the content of the movie, I'm confident I know what I would find in the movie. The movie is not a bipartisan effort, as the election fraud conspiracy theory is firmly planted on the left.

If the entire movie was available for stream or download on the Web at no cost, I would scan through it because of my interest in the topic. However, after having already shelled out money for books on the subject, I have no interest in shelling out more money for a DVD that obviously presents the same talking points.

In terms of the subject matter, if you believe I don't know what I'm talking about, I would be more than happy to debate the topic with you. smile.gif
