Full Version: McCain: Read my Books

Hardball
Much has been made in the past year about Barack Obama and his 2 books. They've been critically priased. They've been cherry-picked and misquoted by his detractors. They are the source of his wealth. They were the butt of a joke on SNL, where the quality of their narrative were the subject of Obama's line of questioning to David Petraeus. A member of this board went on a tirade awhile back claiming that every time she criticized Obama, someone would tell her to read his books for the truth.

When I got home today, My copy of TIME was in the mailbox. Special Edition: The Republicans.

In it, an interview with John McCain.

The opening questions (interviewer in italices, John in boldface)

There's a theme that recurs in your books and your speeches, both about putting country first but also about honor. I wonder if you could define honor for us?
Read it in my books.

I've read your books.
No, I'm not going to define it.

But honor in politics?
I defined it in five books. Read my books.

later on he would say. . .

My life has been well chronicled, in the books I wrote, and people who know me would say on many occasions that I've been a flawed and imperfect servant of my country, but I'm proud of my service to my country.

and flat out refuse to answer a couple of questions, as well as give a litany of one word answers.

I agree.
I couldn't (but could) believe it when I read this.
The man is becoming even more unhinged.

He needs to go away and become the Senator he used to be...reaching across parties.

Big oil buys another one.
