Cindy McCain considers being a member of the PTA and having a son in Iraq to be experience to be a heart beat away from the presidency.

My aunt is a member of the PTA with a son in Iraq. Hell, if she runs for mayor, she too can be president! I need to inform her of this

She has that same blank look on her face that Laura has. You know, the one they both have to put on whenever they say something they don't believe in?

Mrs. McCain said that Gov. Palin "started" in the PTA, not that serving in that organization means she has the experience to be commander in chief. She does however have at least some experience in that role due to her being governor of a state (1.6 years), plus she's been a mayor (6 years) so she obviously has experience in managing a political entity. I'm going to guess that you are an Obama supporter and as such I'd suggest avoiding the commander in chief angle and also the executive experience level when going after Gov. Palin. The reason being that if she doesn't have enough experience to possibly be president, the next obvious question is "Why should I vote for your candidate who will be president?" since Sen. Obama has no experience at all. Of course neither does Sen. McCain but if Sen. Obama's 10 years in senates (Illinois for 7, US for 3.6) is going to be claimed to provide that experience then McCain's twenty-five years in Congress easily trumps that. Better to go with their respective positions on the issues if you want to help your candidate.

*edited to add: "is going...experience then"*

I watched Obama question Petraeus during Foreign Relations Committee testimony last time Petraeus was in Washington. Obama's understanding of the issues was excellent, and he basically used the Socratic method to get Petraeus to formulate exit conditions. It left no doubt in my mind that Obama could command, at the same time as he extracts more performance from command staff.

I can't even IMAGINE Palin interacting with Petraeus in any meaningful way.
