A special needs child is a full time job. One that she doesn't want.

Now THERE I'm with you. I can't actually say "sickening." But, yes, to even be Governor with a five month old with DS is mind-boggling, but I guess it can be rationalized with the fact that she was Governor BEFORE she knew she was pregnant.

But to have a five month old - perfectly healthy OR special needs - and face the prospect of campaigning for the vice-presidency, and then holding that office for 4 years? THAT is blind ambition.

When she became Gov. much was made of the fact that Palin fired the governor's chef and announced SHE and her husband would handle feeding the family. Well THAT just ain't an option now, I'm also also glad to say it's another example of real hypocrisy.

Principles mean nothing if they're surrendered when they become inconvenient. THAT is what a hypocrite is.

It doesn't actually have to hinder her.

She can leave him in a closet when doing photo-ops.

She can leave him behind when she cancels federal funding for schools with special-needs students.
(Ironically, we have an officer in the Young Conservatives of Texas who is legally blind and is against government spending on frivolous programs, like having textbooks in braille.)

Oh, and she has a LOT to learn about the realities of funding for special needs students throughout the US, programs that only those give-it-all-away liberals support, and which have been cut well into the bone.

Of course, stick with private schools and one can be sheltered from such realities. She'll be able to do that with the proceeds of her "moving" book which I expect we'll see just after the new year, and thanks to her seats on the board of some corporations.

I can't bellieve I am agreeing with some on the right on this issue.....but there is a father in the picture. I mean wasn't it us Democrates who pashed the idea that women don't just have to be the stay at home moms, have dinner on the table by the time the husband came home from work, and look after the children? I am an Obama supporter 110% and will be voting for him, and I take his lead when he said that these are family issues (including her 17 year old daughter) and should be kept out of politics altogether.

And yet, he, too, has a full-time job.

Go figure. . . .

There's no ouch. The baby isn't taped. The clothes are taped. The baby is probably as comfortable as being in an infant seat.

Notice. No tears. And Duckie is near enough to grope for comfort.

But the Republics believe in 'traditional families', with the woman staying at home and raising the children, while the husband works.

They want every woman to stay at home and leave politics to the men. They want our family issues a part of politics.

Being told that America is failing because my mom has to get a job, then watch one of their own women become VP?

To hell with them.

Here's the thing. She's an evangelical. They believe that a women's role is to be first and foremost a mother. I've listened to enough John Hagee videos to know that much.

She is part of the "Feminists for Life" movement. Here's an excerpt from something about it on DailyKos:

QUOTE
FFL promotes such fun bogosities as "post-abortion syndrome" (the idea that having an abortion will inevitably lead to PTSD and insanity), and promotes mandatory waiting periods and misinformation guidelines that can be insurmountable for poor or rural women--even those forced to make the most heartbreaking choice because of a nonviable pregnancy. In fact, one of their biggest causes isn't feminist at all--they actively promote the idea that the best choice for women is to stay home as fulltime mothers, and it can be well argued that the only traditionally feminist viewpoint they really support is women's suffrage!

Can you say hypocrisy?
